Worse experience. Very difficult to find the car entrance. It’s located in a truck saturated area and the road conditions are very bad. The rooms are dirty; There were cigarettes tray with strong cigarette odor in the room I was in. I also found used towels that were not changed which made me wonder if they really clean them after clients. The si called “free wifi” is useless. It never worked for me.

Les cabanes en bois sont vétustes et sales ( Cafards ) Les lits bancales, la sale de bain vieille, et la porte fermait mal... Rien à voir avec les photos ( Ce devait être une chambre dans un bâtiment en dur, pas une cabane de jardin )

Vi fandt dette hyggelige sted med træhytter og strandrestaurant. Det lå i en lille bugt med den dejligste strand - også børnevenlig i modsætning til strandene lige ud til Atlanterhavet. Man kan ikke sammenligne afrikansk standard med dansk, men værelset blev holdt pænt rent hver dag, og vi havde nogle dejlige dage der. Personalet var meget venligt. Vi vendte tilbage for at bade et par gange, efter vi var flyttet ind i centrum af Dakar. Man kommer dertil i taxa gennem et område med store containerbiler, som virker fattigt, men det mærker man ikke til på selve hotellets område.

I absolutely loved my three night stay at Hotel Voile d'Or. I know it's not getting good reviews, but I have to disagree. True, it's in a very industrial part of Dakar--doesn't get any more congested or polluted than around the shipping port!--but the hotel was lovely and the beach was one of the cleanest I've seen in West Africa. Also great for swimming. The hotel is secluded and quiet; the rooms are spacious, clean, and nicely furnished, and the staff were very kind and helpful. There are restaurants very close by if you simply know where to look. Yes, taxis are needed to access other areas of the city, but that's a small price to pay for the tranquillity this hotel offers. I would definitely stay again.

The only positive is the beach front location. Otherwise hotel is in a container port area with congested roads and big trucks into / out of the street. I changed rooms twice bc first room has no internet signal and second has no toilet seat but lots of mosquitos. Overall needs lots of repair and maintenance: almost all towel racks and hooks are broken, shattered or missing glass tops on furniture, toilet smells like sewer. I took the half board option: dinner is quite good but breakfast is only bread. Lady receptionist speaks not a word of English. Male receptionist is quite helpful. Nothing within walking distance: no restaurants!

The beach was fabulous, unlike those on the rough west coast and the beach bar very good. The accommodation needs some serious maintenance. there was no safe in the room, nor coffee making facilities, despite being in my confirmation. It took two room changes to get the sort of room I had reserved, even though I was almost the only guest! I only had hot water two of the five days I was there. One day there was no water at all from the shower. Half the lights did not work. those that did mostly had bare bulbs. Only one aircon unit worked the first night. There were no toiletries, as in my confirmation, just one of those tiny hotel soaps. There is nothing in the vicinity and I would not fancy walking outside for the most part. You are straight into the port area, heavily industrial and very run down. Wifi only worked in the bar and reception and was not strong enough to even run outlook on my laptop.

Nicht erschrecken, der Weg zum Hotel führt durch Industriegelände und an einigen Fabriken vorbei, aber am Ende dieses Weges liegt ein kleines Paradies. Der Strand wird sorgfältig gepflegt und ist beaufsichtigt. Er wird von einheimischen rege genutzt. (Die sich den Eintritt leisten können -für Hotelgäste ist er gratis.) Das Restaurant mit Blick aufs Meer bietet von allem etwas und der Service ist sehr freundlich. Unser Zimmer war gross, einfach aber gemütlich und sauber (wurde täglich gereinigt). Das Ideale Hotel für Leute die keinen Schnickschnack suchen und sich Nachts erholen wollen. Übrigens die Taxifahrer vor dem Hotel sind sehr Hilfsbereit und günstig.

Je qualifierais cette hôtel de 2 ou 2 étoiles , 5 Belle plage mais environnement très tres ordinaire.

Once you find it, it is the perfect place for a beach holiday quite and private apart from the weekend but still plenty of room. The staff are friendly and helpful,the rooms are cleaned every day , clean sheets and clean towels. I would definitely go again.

séjour agréable personnelles très bien malheureusement manquait souvent les plats proposée sur la carte et le personnel n'avais pas souvent de monnaie
