Staff very helpful. Location is great near the square and castle. Food was also good.

I booked the (cheapest) hotel room for a layover night for a multi-day trip by car. The room was dated but the bed felt good and the bathroom was clean. However when I was about to go to sleep it turned out there were no curtains so it was impossible to block the sunlight. When I raised the issue to the staff member at the desk she contacted the manager, after which I got the answer that not all rooms have curtains but it's possible to have an upgrade to the superior room for a 20 euros surplus, as the other rooms of the same category were already in use by other customers. After explaining that some way to block out sunlight is essential in a hotel room, the room itself was fine beside the missing curtains and I feel like it's unfair to pay for an unneeded upgrade just because they made a mistake with the room, it was possible to get the upgrade for free instead. The superior room was very good with comfortable beds and a large and clean bathroom. My overall experience was very positive and I would absolutely come back to this hotel, however suggesting that "not all rooms come with curtains" instead of owning up to their mistake was quite an interesting experience.

If you want to feel touch of socialism accomodation this is the one, even a bit overpriced for location and conditions..

Ich war vom Zimmer positiv überrascht. Im gebuchten Zimmer (Nr 301) befand sich ein grosses sehr bequemes Bett. Die Minibar mit 2 Mineralwasser, 1 Bier und 1 Sekt war kostenlos. Leider funktionierte eine Steckdose mit der Nachttischlampe nicht. Grosse Überraschung war früh morgens um 5.15 Uhr, als plötzlich ein fremder Mann (wohl Partygänger) in meinem Zimmer stand. Wie kann so etwas passieren, dass ein Zimmer doppelt vergeben wird? Meine Schlüsselkarte funktionierte auch nicht mehr. Die Dame um 7 Uhr an der Rezeption war ratlos. So etwas ist mir in 50 Jahren reisen noch nie passiert. Ansonsten war es ein guter Aufenthalt und ich werde wenn ich in Zvolen bin, erneut dort übernachten. Vielleicht kann mit ja noch jemand von der Geschäftsleitung erklären, wie Zimmer 301 um 5.15 Uhr am frühen morgen trotz Belegung schon wieder vergeben wurde. Eine sehr unangenehme Erfahrung.

On Saturday night, a noisy disco could be heard until 4:00 in the morning in the apartment on the second floor. No one warned about it, no one cared that the guests could not sleep in the rooms. Terrible hotel from the nineties.

last time I was there, there were renovations... and so I was very upset... this time, no renovations, at least not at 8AM in the morning. The furniture of the hotel are not new... but the hotel in general is well maintained. it's basically more pratical for my needs, than anything else.

It's nice. Its ok. Could be better furniture. And a lot of thongs can be better... but iverall its good

By the looks of the hotel online it’s very elegant. But it’s much dirtier, smells like cigarettes, and room is tiny. A lot of noise outside due to poor insulation. The restaurant was good though with good prices. I guess you get what you pay for. It worked ok for me but I wouldn’t stay here again.
