Very helpful and kind staff with beautiful surroundings

Room was clean, bed very comfortable, and the open-air bathroom was wonderfully unique. It felt like you were really immersed in nature and the property is beautiful. Tons of nature, greenery, and wildlife all around you. Some things we didn’t like, the food at the hotel was not very good. Service was excellent but the chef/cooks were not and need much improvement. Wi-fi is not available in the rooms so you cannot stream movies or media, which we found disappointing on nights that we wanted to stay in and relax. Also, the lake-view rooms sit above a very noisy road, so we constantly heard honking and traffic, making it hard to relax in our room and on our balcony. It also woke us up in the mornings. I would recommend choosing a room that is away from the lake so you don’t hear the traffic.

Nach längerem Warten wurden wir kommentarlos in eine schlechtere Zimmerkategorie eingebuchtet.Erst auf Beschwerde wurde eine fehlerhafte Überbuchung eingestanden. Unser gebuchte Kategorie sei nicht verfügbar.MangerJosef versprach als Ausgleich einen Drink und kostenloses Dinner. Bei checkout wurde dann aber alles berechnet und jegliche Zusagen abgestritten.Insgesamt nicht zu empfehlen.

Great hotel in a beautiful location. We only stayed one night, but could have stayed longer. The pools looked fantastic and well cleaned. We had an excellent meal, and then played pool on the table next to the bar! The hotel is trying hard to be eco, and we had a very interesting bathroom surrounded by plants in the shower, and an open air roof - covered by mesh to stop anything nasty getting in! We watched a fantastic sunset whilst drinking cocktails. Very memorable. Staff were lovely.

We stayed for two nights at Deer Park in March. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The hotel facilities were excellent. We would return.

Nice resort near historic Polonnaruwa with lakeside views. The staff was very attentive, on site restaurant charming, pools well maintained, all for very good value.

コテージレイクビューの部屋に一泊しました。 部屋から見える湖がとても美しくて、感動しました。 ベッドに寝転びながら、ずっと外の景色を楽しみました。 部屋はとても清潔で快適です。 お風呂にはシャワーだけじゃなく、大きな浴槽もありました。お風呂場の天井は金網になっており、まるで露天風呂に入っているような気分でした。 金網から、虫が入ってこないか心配でしたが、大丈夫でした。 部屋の中でヤモリを見ましたが、金網からではなく、別の隙間から入ってきたと思います。 ヤモリは縁起の良い益獣と聞くので、逆に見られてラッキーな気持ちになりました。 蟻は沢山いましたが、スリランカのホテルでは、よく見る光景なので気になりません。 レストランは朝食のみ利用しましたが、味は普通です。エッグステーションで作ってもらったオムレツは、ちょうど良い味付けで、とても美味しかったです。 一つだけ気になる点を上げるとすると、 部屋のウッドデッキは、ホテル内の道と繋がっているため、デッキを横切る人が何人かいました。セキュリティ的にちょっと不安がありましたし、通行人と目が合うと恥ずかしかったです（笑） プライベートな空間として、通れないようにした方がいいかもしれませんね。

The room was very dirty. The staff unprofessional and rude.

This Hotel was breaching Electricity; Slips and trips; and HEALTH AND SAFETY Regulation and put our lives at risk. I never come a cross or heard of this kind of behaviour putting customers lives at risk to save few pence or to increase profit. Think not twice, hundred time before you put customers lives at risk like this... I only can say Group CEO and the Manager: Joseph should put themself in customer's (ours) shoes to understand is it worth killing customers for few pence of profit or cost cutting!!! I tried to call Expedia but not managed to speak to anyone before all my money run out from the mobile. That's worse! When we went to get something to eat before we leave the hotel, I mentioned to my husband it smell like a sewage near our room and when we checked there were some places near the footpath overflowing sewage mixed water outside from the drainages..Spoken to the Group CEO, Mr M I M Nizar and he was trying to convince us that this hotel is in a jungle and NOT in the city of Polonnaruwa!!! According to the Group CEO, as a customer, we should expect animal droppings on the bed as well as dead animals on the floor and the bathroom area including no lights and be able to clean it ourself without making any fuss!!! I mentioned that I am a patient with heart, diabetic and several other illnesses therefore any animal bit could be very dangerous for me. He laughed say that's nothing to worry about! This is NOT A FIVE STAR HOTEL and MAY BE EVEN HELL IS BETTER THAN THIS...

Having just spent 5 nights at this hotel we can definitely recommend it. It was ideally placed for our self organised tour of Sri Lanka and, from here, we visited the iconic sites of Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa, Dambulla and the fabulous Hurulu national park where we saw many elephants. Our lakeside cottage at the hotel was very quaint and we loved sitting on the decking watching the monkeys and chipmunks running around. Staff at the hotel are very welcoming and the pool area is lovely. The hotel does get frequented by coach parties and we enjoyed the breakfast and evening buffets alongside quieter a la carte dinners on the outside terrace on the nights when there were fewer guests

Unique setting, chalets very private. Good buffet breakfast and dinner. Lovely swimming pool. Rooms a little dark for reading in the evening.

Super accueil, tout le personnel a été aux petits soins avec nous. Cadre magnifique, propreté irréprochable. Nourriture très bonne ! A recommander sans aucun doute. Parfait.

Very nice hotel over looking a lake with great sunset views from the well designed hotel grounds. The accommodation was of a good standard as were the facilities. The condition of the hotel was generally good.

This place is amazing if you like peace and quiet. Service is excellent and close enough by tuk tuk to everything. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to come back again

Beautiful location. Staff is friendly. But value for money s not good. Could have got the same facilities for cheaper price
