갈레 페이스 호텔

호텔이 오래되서 아래층 음식냄새와 소음이 좀 들어왔지만 바로 방을 교체해줘서 쾌적하게 잘 지내다 왔습니다

역사와 전통을 자랑할 만한 호텔이라는 생각에 묵어봤어요. 해변도 너무 인상적이고요. Galle Face에 인접한 호텔은 여기밖에 없으니까요. 그런데 전반적으로 시설이 낙후되고, 음식이 너무 형편없어서, 콜롬보 시내 다른 호텔을 선택하고 싶네요. 호텔 분위기 때문에 점심이나 저녁에 해변에서 차와 식사를 하는 것이 낫겠어요. 숙박은 추천하고 싶지 않네요. 콜롬보 시내 호텔 3박 후 여기서 2박 했거든요.

호텔의 전반적인 서비스와 시설 등에 대해서는 매우 만족스럽다. 무료이용 미니바도 매우 훌륭하다. 레스토랑도 조용하고 멋졌다. 그러나 큰 길가에 위치한 룸은 차량과 시위하는 사람들의 소음이 그대로 들려서 조금 시끄러웠다. 풀장위치와 전망도 매우 훌륭했으나 어린이용 풀장이 없어서 어린이에게는 다소 깊어서 위험할수 있다.

부티크 호텔이라고 자칭하나 전체적인 객실이 너무 오래되었다. 침구류도 딱히 편하지 않았으며, 콜롬보 시내 호텔 전체가 진행하는 일반 공항 택시비용을 추후 호텔결재를 해주지 않아 매우 불편하였던 기억이 있다 그러나 콜롬보 해변 바로 앞에 위치하여있어 상당히 좋은 경치를 감상하며 조식을 즐길수 있었던 것 같다

We stayed there for Eight days. It was great experience with old world charm and modern amenities. Rooms were very clean; Staff was very friendly and polite. Specially the "Verandah" staff was very attentive, and Breakfast and dinner was great with ever changing menus. It is unfair to mention few names as a complement because it is injustice done for others who served us with great care and friendliness. As a whole our stay was memorable. We will definitely stay at Galle Face Hotel on our next visit to Sri Lanka.

Super schönes Hotel und bester Lage mit herrlichem Pool mit Blick auf das Meer sehr freundliches und zuvorkommend des Personal das Abendessen Buffet und auch das Frühstück Buffet schwierig zu übertreffen. Alles da und sehr guter Qualität hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Wir kommen wieder.

Great hotel with a rich history and a sunset that best in the world

We absolutely loved our stay at the Galle Face. The staff was amazing, and we really. loved our museum tour with Jaritha.

Room very clean but dreary outlook. Meals excellent choice and staff extremely attentive. Great outdoor pool but it needs to have division between children and adult users.

This is the best place to stay in Colombo. It is the oldest hotel, and retains its grandeur. Clean, spacious rooms, photos of all the luminaries who have stayed here. Wonderful attentive staff. Great good and drinks in multiple venues.

Galle Face Hotel is a grand old dame. Even though it is showing it's age, to us it was part of the charm of the place. we loved our three night stay there and wouldn't hesitate to stay again if we were in Colombo. The buffet breakfast was amazing, the swimming pool massive and the staff were incredibly pleasant. Great value for money.

An excellent, excellent stay at the Galle Face Hotel. The staff were so kind and attentive, especially the entire guest relations team of Darshi, Viduni, Kithara, Dinushi, and Ivoni, who surprised us with a gorgeous setup for our anniversary, and Kenan who gave us a special hotel 'heritage tour.' We stayed 2 days, but the kids were so sad to leave. The breakfast was expansive and delicious, and the swimming pool is apparently the only hotel salt pool in Sri Lanka. The sunset viewing area is beautiful and just everything about this hotel was wonderful.

A great hotel overlooking the Indian Ocean in central Colombo was a haven on peace in a busy city. The onsite restaurants were excellent with attentive and efficient service, in particular, breakfast was a pleasant and varied meal served on the terrace overlooking the ocean, a great start to the day. Reception staff very helpful, organised the taxi to the airport with no problems. Generally a very clean welcoming and well run hotel.

Historical property with friendly staff and great views overlooking the sea. Some areas and the room felt quite tired. The quality of the breakfast and dinner buffets was not great.

I had mixed interactions with the staff. Some were warm and welcoming, others did not make me feel welcome or a valued guest at all, including the first point of contact at reception. The spa staff were amazing and run a quality experience which is excellent value for money. The lifeguards were excellent as were the staff in 1864 fine dining experience. The concierge lady assigned to me said she would make a dinner reservation for me but when I arrived for the buffet dinner for me on my first night, there was no reservation. The staff kindly found me a table and brought drinks then they came and apologised and said I had to move because the table was reserved. The same lady concierge gave me her number which seemed standard and said to ask her anything. I did ask her a question via WhatsApp messaging and it took her 24hours to reply. Housekeeping left a cleaning product in the shower. The buffet food was good and 1864 restaurant very good food. The breakfast had lots of variety and was enjoyable.

Our first experience of Sri Lanka and historic Galle Face Hotel was outstanding well managed and maintained to high quality. All the staff from reception to pool were amazing so helpful and courteous. The buffet restaurant is amazing Salt water Pool! It is about 50 mins from airport about 3 hours to Sigiriya and Dambulla for the rock fortress. We loved it!

Ac:n funkade inte riktigt, satte ned den till 16 grader för att kyla ner men det alldrig kallare än 23,5 grader vilket är rent för mycket för oss. En del av personalen i poolbaren verkade lite för mycket intresserade av sin telefon än att servera/serva kunderna, man var väldigt snabbt framme när det kom ett gäng snygga tjejer än när vi 50+ kom och ville beställa. Gillade inte att det var en saltvattenpool, känns lite ofräscht.

The hotel is a masterclass in shabby chic - old world charm that’s perhaps a little frayed at the edges but wonderful staff and great service make up for all of that. Oceanside pool with a great poolside bar and restaurant, breakfast on the veranda - you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Wonderful stay

This is a beautiful historical hotel with charming colonial architecture that really gives the place a unique character. The buffet breakfast was also excellent, with a wide variety of options and good quality overall. However, the biggest drawback was the condition of the room. It was not well maintained, with a strong humidity smell that could be quite uncomfortable—especially for anyone with allergies. There were also signs of wear and tear, including broken furniture in the bathroom, which was disappointing. It’s worth noting that other parts of the hotel appeared to be in much better condition, so it seems like the section we were assigned to may not reflect the overall standard. With some refurbishment and better upkeep, this hotel could truly return to its former shine.
