Very nice and convient hôtel

Good location early checkin great cafes close and great customer service

Sauber und bequem aber als ich gegen 9 Uhr ankam, war niemand da. Das Hotel war leer. Leon warmes Wasser, keine Rezeption.

I cannot judge the hotel by itself but as a paying customer, I can provide an insight about how they consider their customers. I did book a room for one night and unfortunately didn't pay enough attention and book the wrong day (in Jun instead of Jul). I only realized it the morning of. I contacted the hotel immediately to apologize and let me know I won't be able to make it, and would like to book a room for the day I initially intended to. I took ownership for my mistake and thought that any decent management would be happy to book another night, and provide a small discount as a commercial gesture. I paid $170 for one night, they saved money as the room either wasn't used (so no costs involved in room cleanup, etc.) or were able to book the room to another customer, so if they'd offer me a $10-$15 discount, it would virtually cost them nothing, and I'd have been happy. Well that didn't happen. They ignored me. You'd also think they would call/email when a guest is no show, and the didn't either. I sent another email the same day. They ignored it again. Then I sent them a 3rd email a week later, which they finally answered to, offering a ridiculous $4 off my next booking, emphasing it was my fault. I know it is. I stated it twice already. But you either saved money or doubled your gains on that room. Offering a mere $4 to shut me up after ignoring me for a week is insulting. I therefore used my money to another establishment, that I hope, has more respect for their guests

Nice hotel thats very close to the city.

The room was comfortable but I did not realize there was mo air conditioning and the street was too noisy to keep the windows open. The hotel is in a neighborhood and I liked that. And it is still close to restaurants and shopping. The staff were very helpful but not great at giving directions

Stayed 3 days while attending a conference, we had to leave before the 7:30 breakfasts, but they accommodated us to get a coffee & a bite to eat before we left, plus called us taxis as we had a language barrier. Quiet, clean room. Staff was super friendly!!!

Everything was excellent. Reception at front desk so kind and gave key info on transportation and guidance for the Citi.

Nice hotel close to the Basel train station and convenient to historic city center.

the staff were friendly and accomodating. they spoke English. the property included an amazing breakfast. i would recommend this property

This hotel is NOT what it claims to be. Instances include but are not limited to: 1. The room advertised false and/or misleading to the consumer. The room in reality is bare-bones, with only a towel, one wash cloth, and a cheap and integrating bar of soap in the bathroom. 2. The room was quite dirty and uncared for, as if it is a hostel for college students. 3. The front desk staff was rarely available. We had to wait for the cleaning lady to buzz him, and he then took time to come to the front desk and seemed irritable because of the afternoon call. 4. The check-in process was excruciatingly slow. The front desk misspelled our name and we had to wait for him to reenter and reprint our Switzerland government paid for and included travel cards (discounts to museums, free rides on transits). 5. Less than 3 hours of being present, having not used the bathroom nor unpacked, I went to the front desk and said we were leaving. He demanded payment for both nights. I said no, we were present for a couple hours, did nothing, and are leaving. He then THREATENED to lock the hotel door and hold us hostage until the police came unless we paid right then on the card. 6. The hotel revoked our city travel passes which, I believe, is illegal to do. My life was threatened. My wife’s life was threatened. I felt required to pay in order to escape. On our honeymoon, nonetheless. I question the reviews on any site for Hotel Birsighof. Stay elsewhere!

Beautiful space and friendly staff who were willing to help in any way they could.

The hotel is simple, but nice, the room is fair for a 3 star. The bathroom is clean and Ok, but quite small. Breakfast is good and the staff is very nice and kind.

Very nice small hotel, nice personell, great location. I would definitely book again if back in Basel.

Schöne Zimmer, nicht allzugross, aber tip top für Preis Leistung. Das Hotel sieht von aussen nicht so schön aus, hat aber innen einen herzigen Innenhof. Nettes Personal, nahe beim Bahnhof.

The staff at the Hotel Birsighof were very accommodating and helpful. Breakfast choices were excellent and the property was well-maintained.

Zentrale Lage, Altstadt gut zu Fuss erreichbar. Sehr ruhige Lage mit gemütlichem Garten. Gutes Preis/Leistungs-Verhältnis. Personal sehr freundlich.
