Das Zimmer war sehr klein für den Preis, aber sauber. Duschkopfhalterung sowie Lüftung im Bad defekt. Dafür Wasserkocher mit Tee/Kaffee im Zimmer. Frühstück reichhaltig, Produkte aus der Region. Nur 8 gratis Parkplätze beim Hotel. Der Aufenthalt war soweit gut, Preis/Leistung nicht ganz stimmig.

We had an enchanting time and made all the better by our host on check in called Ana. She was soo helpful and friendly. She checked us in early, gave us vouchers to spend at the HR Giger museum, which was our main goal of our visit. The breakfast was delicious and the lady serving breakfast was also extremely lovely. Would 100% stay here again. Visited in September 2024

Personnelle sympathique. L'établissement et les chambres sont propres. Le restaurant adjacent est très bien. Toutefois, il faisait très chaud dans la chambre, les volets ne fermaient pas bien, la literie n'était pas terrible et surtout il y avait beaucoup de bruit (bruits provenant des autres chambres quand les hôtes utilisaient leur salle de bain). Du bruit à l'extérieur également cette nuit là (boîte de nuit? musique très forte en tout cas), indépendant de la volonté de l'hôtel mais qui a malheureusement contribué à notre mauvaise nuit. A ce prix là nous nous attendions à mieux.

We arrived at 8.30 pm. We contacted the hotel before we arrived as were worried that we might miss the 8pm check in time and our email was promptly answered and we were reassured that there was provision for this. We had quite a long walk uphill to the hotel which is well positioned just below the medieval town but if you arrived before 6pm there is a bus service up to the public car park near the hotel. We had a two night stay and our room was very traditional, small but comfortable with a decent bathroom. The bed was comfortable and we had a lovely view out of the window. We hadn't booked breakfast but were able to take it for the two mornings and just pay at reception on checkout. There was a good set of choices for the breakfast and helpful staff. There was a nice balcony to eat breakfast on but unfortunately it wasn't quite warm enough for us on the days we were there. We could also have eaten other meals at the adjacent hotel restaurant. As already stated the hotel is very well appointed to easily walk up into the medieval village and there are some lovely walks around. The walk down to the station and cheese making experience attraction is quite easy with good views to the surrounding countryside. Entry was free with our Swiss pass and we found it very interesting. There area also busses from the station into the nearby town of Bulle.

We totally enjoyed our stay in the cute town of Gruyères. The room was incredibly small but the bathroom was large. Opened the windows for fresh air (no a/c or fan) but were inundated with flies. Incredible views of the castle, nice meal at the Knights Table and good additional cost breakfast on the terrace.
