Stayed at Esse Hostel for 3 days 2 nights & was extremely pleased. The place is fairly new & there weren't too many fellow guests when I was there. I got to stay at room B but also got a little taste of room X since I came too early & had to wait there while there were still people occupying room B. Both were very classy, & all beds have cozy, thick comforter blankets. Good AC & wifi. The crew's service was incredibly pleasing during my short stay. Common areas & bathrooms were squeaky clean. The manager, Som, deserves special mention too. She was very accommodating, responsive through online messaging, flexible, & gave excellent recommendations/details for anything I needed. I'm not exactly an instagram person, but I'm sure those who are will be able to utilize every corner of this place for cool photos, from the rooms, the balcony on room B, the common area, the open area at the back, the facade, & even the cafe as they all look & feel great. Speaking of the cafe, they serve hot & cold drinks. The drinks aren't anything unique but they're good enough if you just want to chill out for a while or finish some work before heading out to the city. As for the location, it's in a discreet & I'd say more classy area. You'll have to travel a bit to get to the busy street food areas & tuktuks. You'll be surrounded by nice looking homes, condominiums & malls. If you need stuff, there's always 7-11 branches nearby anywhere in Bangkok, but the Villa Market 5 minutes away is also good for groceries. Your main mode of public transport nearby is the Phra Ram 9 mrt station which is a 10 to 16 minute walk from the hostel. From there, you can get to a lot of main attractions or stop by other mrt stations to transfer over to the bts. Overall, it's a very solid place for families travelling together, or solo backpackers who aren't into partying hard. Very classy & cozy is the best way to describe it.
