The buildings are rundown but everything is functional. The concrete in the pool is sharp and raspy but the vibe and the price is perfect!

Do not stay in the cheaper rooms i thought id booked the rooms attached to the hotel little did we know we had booked the 1s over the rd same hotel just different rooms to the rest really not nice dirty bugs no windows did 1 night as hadeto and left staff really helpfull and nice tho couldnt fault them lovely people

From check in, the experience at this place was awful. Firstly, it’s not where you expect it to be and it’s part of Cliffview? Simple Life. Expedia advertises the check in time as 8am, which was part of the reason we booked this hotel as we had an early ferry. Upon arriving we were told check in was 2pm!!! When I questioned this I was met with immediate hostility and told ‘if you don’t like the check in time then book somewhere else’ in so many words. Miraculously, they found us a room which was quite honestly horrible. It was behind the main hotel on what can only be described as a dumping/building site and had a bad smell. Our window looked out onto what seemed to be a house and we were woken in the morning by loud coughing due to the proximity. This wouldn’t have been bad if our sleep the night before wasn’t interrupted by some sort of construction work going on in the room next to us, constantly drilling for a few hours on and off. The noise and location wasn’t the only issue, the room was definitely very simple. It was also dirty and the towels were threadbare, the bedspread had hole/stain and the toilet blocked almost immediately. My partner wouldn’t even shower in this place because he said it would make him feel dirtier than before! When we asked for the toilet to be unblocked they were again very hostile and said they’d fix it ‘this time’. We disliked this place so much we ended up leaving Koh Tao early as we couldn’t stand to stay another night in that place.

Cet établissement ne devrait tout simplement pas être autorisé à accueillir des clients dans cet état. Les photos parlent d’elles-mêmes : moisissures visibles, humidité omniprésente, murs et plafonds sales, tachés et dégradés, peinture cloquée, joints noircis, fissures, trous non rebouchés, finitions inexistantes. L’état général est sale, vétuste et totalement négligé. La salle de bain est particulièrement choquante : traces d’humidité partout, équipements encrassés, installations vieillissantes et manifestement jamais entretenues. On est très loin des standards minimums d’hygiène attendus dans un hôtel, même bas de gamme. À cela s’ajoute un bruit permanent, de jour comme de nuit : impossible de se reposer correctement. Entre les nuisances sonores constantes et l’état du logement, le séjour devient vite invivable. Le sentiment est clair : aucun respect du client, aucune remise en état entre les séjours, aucune notion de confort, de calme ou de propreté. Dormir dans ce genre de conditions est tout simplement inadmissible. Je déconseille cet hôtel sans la moindre hésitation. À fuir, même pour une nuit.

Room was outdated and not in great condition. Looked much worse in real life compared to the photos used online. The towels given appeared dirty as was the room. The staff were helpful and the location was great.

Beliggenheten var flott men veldig slitent og kun kaldtvann i dusjen. Håndklær var slitte og frynsete. Sengetøy var flekkete.

My room was backside of restaurant, not very clean was ok, Staf was friendly, amenities were basic only

Room I was given did not look like the tidy clean room advertised. There were ants throughout the bed linen, ants on desk, main light did not work, air conditioner could no be turned off or temperature changed so room was too cold. Bathroom tap was broken and shower dripped constantly leaving bathroom always wet and damp smelling. Luckly was refunded for cutting my trip short however refund was hard to attain as staff were unhelpful. Only positive was the pool

Our booked room had a smell of mould and had ants crawling around in the room. We told the staff, and they told us to have a look at another room. This room had the same issues, with ants crawling around in the room and in the bed. As the staff couldn’t offer us any other rooms currently, they gave us an ant repellent spray that we could use and told us we could come back tomorrow morning and have a look at yet another room. The sink in the bathroom of the second room was about to come off the wall and was partly covered in mould. There was a pair of glasses and pants left in the wardrobe from the previous guest, making us question the cleaning of the room between guests. The noice isolation was bad and a window panel was missing (which they had just covered with drapes). On the next day, we had a look at a third room, which turned out to be free of ants. However, the wardrobe and hangers still had quite a lot of dust and dirt left on them (they obviously don’t clean the rooms properly between guests), the fan was very dirty, and the towels and bed clothes had stains and holes on them. Overall, all the three rooms felt quite dirty. Additionally, the wifi was terrible and some of the staff acted nonchalant. With the amount that we payed for this room we had definately expected a better standard; this was not worth the money! We’ve been traveling for two months by this time, and we’ve payed a lot less money for rooms that had better standard and was noticably cleaner than this.

I will stay here again. This accommodation suited my needs. Walk a few steps and there is a bar and restaurants in close proximity. Everything you need is so close. The beach at the bottom of the property. Perfect for those learning to dive or on a solo journey.

Booked a bungalow for 5 nights. The view was great with direct access to small beautiful beach. The place would definitely need some maintenance. Lots of paint chipping on the walls and crumbling pillars on the patio. I was most disappointed by the lack of room service. After third night I had to ask for it and even then they came late. Overall decent value though I guess

Upon check in i was disappointed with the room and the sea view blocked by trees. However I grew to really enjoy private little beach out the door, pool and amazing sunset. Also the use of the cliff hotel a few doors down. Hotel has no reception and must checkin at cliff hotel.

Good spot for divers on low budget. Simple live divers hub which been excellent. Bungalows need proper rub and area lick of paint .Swimming pool ok mostly occupied By dive courses but you can use next door cliff view resort pool.

Great view over Mae Haad. Quiet most of the time. Great Thai food close by. Air conditioner worked but not quite cold enough but was ok. Older place but great for price.

*GPS Location is wrong! Check in at Cliff View Simple Life resort* Nice & cheap stay! It's back behind the Cliff View Simple Life resort, which is super nice. So you get most of the amenities and access to the pool and everything as if staying at Cliff View, just a much cheaper, older room. The breakfast buffet is pretty good and only 250 baht. The restaurant seems to have odd hours other than that. They also offer full laundry service for 50 baht a kilo. That was very helpful. Overall I'd definitely stay there again!

Wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay in the standard apartment; we had air con dripping constantly and then moved to a room which was ant infested, smelly and just felt dirty. Thankfully we were moved to a bungalow which was much nicer and we were thankful the staff were understanding. Pool is lovely and location is good.

Customer service and reception were absolutely fantastic. Great sunset views from the pool deck.

Nice stay in the beautiful island.
