AmeriVu Inn and Suites - St. Croix Falls

Location is excellent. We came to go skiing at Trollhaugen and it's just a few miles away. It is NOT ski in/ski out but not far at all. Interstate park, MN is also close by with good trails and spectacular views. Location was also right off the interstate and an easy one hour drive from Mall of America. Pros: beds were pretty good. Furniture had been updated recently. Location, location, location. Cons: Hotel is older but updated for the most part. I didn’t like that they wanted $60 up front for "incidentals" vs just filing a card and also charged $5 if plastic key card wasn't returned. That was also a first. Also, doors had to be shut hard to lock from the outside or they didn’t lock. Gently shutting wasn't enough. We came back to one of the doors (we had two rooms) agape but nothing looked out of place. Lower level seemed to attract smokers as they all had a chair and a smoking container available next to the chair so that was sorta nasty when getting in and out of the cars. Pool wasn't clean. Pillows were pancakes. Bring your own! Would i stay there again? Possibly. There aren't many choices around there and there is a lot to see and do in the area.

Pretty much a “get what you pay for” hotel. Not very nice in the room and very limited features but it’s alr ig.

Hot shower, great internet! HBO. You don’t get what you don’t pay for. Out dated facilities but the price is right, clean and the beds are comfortable.

Room very funky did not mind that but heat was very erratic. Bed not good. Desk guy was trying to double charge my card. The building popped creaked all night long.

This is an older property. Family run and they have good intentions. They have very little experience with hospitality. Again they mean well but have no training. The price point make the value. Budget with not much updating but it served our purpose for a get away. The potential is there but how will they get training. I will come back with proper expectations.

Bugs in bathroom sink Towels were yellowed

I booked this for January 1st and let me tell you, what an unbelievable experience. We arrive 4 hours after check in so it’s still only 7pm, checkin goes fine. We then settle in and call to see what time Walmart closes, go change to get ready to chill at the pool and sauna, both open and operable, fine thats the one star. Here’s where it gets dicey: Our room has lightbulbs that need to be replaced so the room itself was like a dark dungeon. I know I saw either a ladybug and a fly inside our room. We’re just fine. I don’t care. But we go to the pool area and I don’t care if Boxelder bugs are not harmful and a “Wisconsin thing”, the fact that they were crawling everywhere by the pool and it looked like a funeral in the sauna for about 10 of them. Stop being cheap and go sweep them up, we don’t care, we just don’t want to see them. This place is worse than a roach motel: The woman and what appeared to be her son or relative running the establishment accused us of 2 things. They said here are 2 things: One, you have a 3rd person in your room, it’s a $10 charge for each additional person, (my daughter) I said fine, charge me. Here’s the second incidental: we believe you smoked in the room and someone complained about the smell. Sorry but I would never smoke in a room with my 8 year old 2: do not accuse us of anything without thinking the guest (US) getting upset. Long story short, the younger employee threatens to call the cops on my husband for being loud. Take your $60. never !

Pillow was all flat. Asked for extra, said they only had one pillow. No hot water. Pool did not have chlorine, so it smelled unclean.

I booked Sat. night through expedia but decided to go a day earlier and just called directly to get a room for Friday night. That room was terrible; the furnance kept going on and off and was very loud; i unplugged it then another annoying noise from a pipe was on and off. I called expedia to change to a different hotel but this hotel would not waive the fee. I ended up going back and told them I wanted a different room. They put me on the other hall way and that room was fine. If I would of had that room to start my only complaint would be is that they only have coffee from 6:00 - 9:00 and it was not even good. Not much offered for breakfast but then the cost to stay there was cheap. The saying you get what you pay for sums up perfectly this place.

This is an older motel. It is clean and kept up. The staff are accommodating. It is winter right now, the room is toasty warm and the bed is comfortable. Restaurants nearby. I will continue to stay here when traveling.

Needs alot of updating

The hotel was decent and staff were nice. The room was clean. The bed mattress felt like it might be a little old, but otherwise alright.

This was a “good enough” stay for a night. The proximity to the things we wanted to do/see was good. The staff were friendly and my partner loved that they had a sauna. It’s a cheap hotel—nothing fancy, but it was quiet, the bed was comfortable enough, and the price was right.

The rooms are clean and comfortable. Yes, the facility is a little older, but I saw nothing wrong with it. I stayed warm all night with the temperature below 0 outside. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

Property is old and decently well kept. Could use a couple upgrades. They closed the pool early. Parking area could use lines so people know where to park in the front.

Went to check in and all lights were off, place was filthy, pool and sauna were out of order and looked like they hadn’t been in working order in years. Demanded our money back and they refused. We drive across town and stayed at Holiday Inn instead. Trying to get our money back still from this dump.
