Clarion Inn Strasburg - Lancaster

I have been taking our family{ 18} to Lancaster Pa. for the past15 years to attend the Christmas show, we have used the same hotel and restaurant for our gatherings during that time, this year we decided to make a change in Hotel reservations, and unfortunate I selected the wrong Hotel the Clarion in Strasburg,we reserve 7 rooms each trip,check in was fine, the rooms appeared to be ok, we did our usual routine,went to dinner then attended the Christmas show always a exceptional experience, After returning to the Hotel around 11pm, turning on the lights, and the horror show began,3 of my family members called me and advised that they were leaving, because roaches were crawling on the wall and some came from under there bed, they quickly disappeared once the light was on. I requested that they go to the office and advise them of the issue and get other rooms they said no and traveled back home, a 4 hour drive. I spoke to a Hotel representative the following morning showed him photo of the creatures on the wall and provided him with the information he requested and gave him my Buisness card, he stated he will forward the information to the Manager on Monday and to expect a call from the Manager,Monday came and no phone call, 4 of the 7 rooms had no major issues, The issue should have been addressed by the Manager ,so much for management, my 3 family members drove another 4hours home after being up for 12 hours, because of the pest infected conditions.

I would not recommend this place to anyone, it's nasty, dirty, stinks, dust all over the refrigerator & dressers, tge bathroom is nasty the toilet is stained in the inside of the seat with something black and the bathtub is old and worn-out it had black sataibs on it too, its like they don't clean the rooms. It's no joke the rooms are nasty. I couldn't believe it intill I seen it with my own eyes. Never again wiil i ever go there. Very nasty.

The property was in desperate need of upgrading. Bathroom door did not shut. HVAC unit not operating properly. Refrigerator extremely noisy. Key cards did not work. Window blinds broken and did not raise and lower at some windows. Bathroom so small you could not turn around in it. Had to shut door to use tub or sink. Furniture was worn and old. Had to wait at reception over 10 minutes for anyone to show up to check in.

horribly dirty

Needed updates terribly but could be a very cute, quaint place. The blinds in the room were broken, but the room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The price was right for this place . Lower than any others so the bad things were not a big issue. Certainly not a resort but we didn’t expect it to be .

Just a place to spend the night. Close to Sight and Sound. Hotel could use some “sprucing up”. Clean and efficient, but showing signs of wear.

The first room was dirt, garbage and towels used. I asked for another room and it seemed better. I went out for dinner and when I came back I found out the bath tub was clogged. So dirty and really bad clogged. The sheets were dirt and there was blood marks on mattress. I do not recommend . It was not an isolated incident. 2 rooms dirty, bathtub clogged( I guess it proves it never gets cleaned)

The room was deplorable. The bathroom was not clean. There were multiple lights out. The carpet was old and stained. There was no closet. The rack attached to the wall serving as an area to hang clothes was hanging out of the wall. We are asking for a full refund.

Nice but old

Close to things. Property needs serious wirk, its in amish territory hire the amish to do.the work. Dirty, the room was not kept up or clean before we arrived. It had me checking for bugs n bed bugs.

Didn’t stay here because staff wouldn’t except Expedia’s payment in place of ours. Expedia tried to make this happen because I had already paid but when our charge went through our card was denied. We had paid previously paid with Expedia so when they told management that they would pay the Clarion themselves management refused. Expedia got us another room at a different hotel. Would not recommend Clarion to anyone!

The property, although lovely and historic looking, is showing it's age and needs to have an upgrade in some areas. The rooms are large and clean, and the bed is very comfortable. The breakfast offerings have lessened in quality and variety since our previous visits. I ended up bringing my own tea bags, instant oatmeal, and fresh fruit.

It was okay for one night but we won’t be back to stay. Mold all over the bathroom and shower (we booked three rooms, all three rooms had mold in the tub). Room was very dusty. The breakfast wasn’t worth looking for a hotel with continental breakfast included. Everything but the waffle was cold. It was very close to the train station, that was the only plus. And the area was very beautiful also.

Property is dated and dirty. No easy way to get luggage to room. I found a CPAP mask and wrappers under bed (dog pulled them out), disgusting. Room smelled musty. Rundown property, low quality breakfast.

Beware of this place

This is an older property so some things are dated and could be updated . Comfortable and clean rooms and bedding. If your looking for an affordable place to stay for a few nights near the Sights and Sounds theater this is a good place to stay. Basic breakfast is included. The women working nights was super helpful.

The management does not return calls. I have called 3 times to change a reserved date and no call back. Horrible customer service

Nice place, good service and staff. Complimentary breakfast a little no frills, but free. Convenient location. Great restaurant next door.

I liked the inn but our room was not very clean

We loved the location and the homey feeling, but certain things like the bath tub and door jambs/ moulding were old and soiled. They tried to make the bed comfortable with a pillow topper that we continually had to readjust during the night. So sleep was sporadic. The heat was so basic without an actual thermostat. We were either too hot or too cold. We couldn’t set a specific temperature. Breakfast was fine. There was really nothing left by 9 am so go early which is hard if you don’t sleep. Coffee was good and there were waffles. Who doesn’t like waffles? The check in staff was nice. But the cleaning staff came between us going to breakfast and when we left. We had to use the bathroom, not cool. We even still had food in the room. It wasnt cool not having a private restroom after breakfast with a modicum of privacy. The best part was the Amish ploughing the fields across the street and the restaurant next door is a gem. I’ve paid this price for cleaner facilities and basic amenities. Holiday Inn express next door will be our next booking in the area.
