We come to Pierre at least every other year to fish Oahe Dam and stayed at this property before so we knew this wasnt a 5 star resort, but was comfortable enough and in a convenient area. We especially liked the gated boat area in the back so we booked a week this year again. Upon arrival, weeds were atrocious- pretty sure nobody had mowed all year and it is August. Trash cans over flowing, the gated boat area we liked was now a storage area for broken down/abandoned vehicles. Speaking with some locals, they said the hotel was under different ownership and has turned into a crime hot-spot in Pierre. We were going to tough it out until the cops were called and some kind of craziness exploded 2 doors down from our room. Cops were there all night and all the next day. We called hotels.com and told them we needed the heck out of this hotel because it now felt completely unsafe. After stalling and 4 calls about this issue, the hotel manager finally got around to refunding us. We will never book this hotel again.

The breakfast supposed be until 9:00 am but since 8 am is already empty and the staff doesn’t want to provide more. The shower was very dirty no enough towels and no hair dryer

bed was good thou tin platform the mattress sat on had a oil can rebound sound when you sat on bed

Unfortunately this place needs more TCL. And more staff to clean.

Good nice clean rooms

For the safety of our health, we ended up leaving this hotel upon seeing two rooms. The entrance had overflowing garbage, the firepit was filled with garbage and pizza boxes, the hallway to our room smelled of rotting food from overflowing garbage can near the vending machine. And there was an overwhelming smell of marijuana in the hallway leading to our room. We entered the room and the chairs were covered in stains and white residue. We told management about it - the second room they showed us was not any better. There were flies everywhere. We told the desk manager that for our safety and well-being of our health, we could not stay there and left. We took photos and sent them to Expedia requesting a full refund. The hotel said they would grant that but it’s been a week and we still have not gotten our money back.

Ice machines didnt work on 2 floors. Breakfast bar didnt open on time

There is trash overflowing the cans. There is a transient firepit at the back entrance. Room smelled of smoke. Just very little maintenance

Room temperature & beds were comfortable. Little selection for breakfast. The biscuits and gravy were thick and dry and there was no milk for cereal. Waffles were good. Had to get staff from the kitchen in order to check out.

It was unclean, insects smashed in the bathroom and shower. Used Coffee filter left in pot . Sink splatters water when you turn it on. We slept about 4 hrs and left in the middle of the night. Not worth sleeping in such filth

Dirty bown towels on the floor in the hall our entire stay. Dirty room doors were left open. The walls and door frames were grimy. Door lock was broken in our room. Multiple light bulbs out in our room. Our shower had pink mold.

It was a very uncomfortable night. Beds were not well kept the bathrooms had some mold and the hair dryer was smoking every time it was used.

The room was clean and the staff were nice. The hotel was walking distance to the attractions.

The property is convenient. We spent most of our time with relatives in Pierre.

Looked better on the inside than outside. Was clean!!

There was garbage piled in the hallways when we arrived. Grape drink for grape juice. No syrup for pancakes. But the bathroom was clean.
