DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Suites Pittsburgh Downtown

FABULOUS MY 3rd STAY LOVES IT!

We were given a sheet at check in with what time breakfast was and the bar was open. Breakfast was until 11 am on Saturday. We went down at 10:20 am and were turned away. Why say it is until 11 if you really aren't?! The same thing happened with the bar that night. If you stop serving early, at least note that. Wouldn't go back for this reason. Otherwise, was a convenient location to the arena.

The staff was amazing, the only semi complaint we had was that the room wasn't the cleanest, there were stains on lamp shades, there was random small trash from previous guests in the suite. It wasn't a huge issue enough to complain and hope there was another suite to get moved to, because we knew there were limited rooms to due a local packed event.

It was a very short walk to the arena. Very clean, beautiful room

Very outdated. Bed was comfy staff was ok valet was good. Stains on pull-out couch rips in carpet. Money just needs to be invested into this property. Expected more from you (Hiltons')

Staff was polite, was upset the grill and bar hours on the sign weren’t when they were actually open. Would be nice to have coffee available in the lobby at all hours. Overall nice stay though

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times and have had no issues until this last stay. We stayed 2 nights and on the second night, after my wife had surgery, a family of 5 or 6 were booked into a nearby room. Around 11 p.m. their children were running up and down the halls, knocking on doors, screaming and yelling. Several of the other customers staying on the floor attempted to get the kids to quiet down, but the kids just cursed at the customers and kept being loud and obnoxious. The kids eventually went back to their room but were so extremely loud, it was impossible to go back to sleep. Finally around 11:30 p.m. I called the front desk to complain and they stated they would send up security. Security never went to that room. Around 12:30 a.m. the kids finally quieted down enough to allow us to go to sleep.

The hotel was located great for us since we were attending a game at PPG Arena. All the staff that we came in contact with were very pleasant and friendly. The breakfast buffet on Sunday was really good.

Great location to downtown. Walked from hotel to Market Square & all around downtown. Frint desk worker was very helpful. They upgraded us to a suite on the 18th floor. Beautiful views! The suite was very clean and spacious.

Rooms were nice and clean no complaints staff was pleasant and helpful. Wasn’t thrilled to have to pay $36 to park as a hotel guest. But overall nice hotel

Not sure how this hotel got/gets such a high rating. The staff was certainly great, but after that nothing was even good. At best average. My room was oddly played out the bathroom was tiny and old with mold in the tub. The restaurant was a joke and unready for a packed hotel over Christmas.

Went to Pittsburgh to visit family and the only reason I stayed was because it would be too much trouble to book somewhere else. Property is in desperate need for renovation. The carpet in the hall way on the 13th floor where I was is desperate need for cleaning. My allergies act up every time I leave or enter my room. The television in my room didn’t work. I would never go back to that property.

We were on the 10th floor and it was SO noisy. I heard people above us, to the side of us, even under us. Not sure if it was just a crazy few nights or the walls are so thin that it doesn’t matter. Besides that, it was an alright stay.

So, this may seem unfair but I can't quite decide. I first stayed at the DoubleTree as a long term resident for 18 months. Back then, I would give them a 9/10 for everything. The reason why my scores have been so poor is because the hotel has not changed at all since 2017. There has been no renovation to any part of the hotel and the service quality has tanked. The room I stayed in was a suite, everything was the same but older. The room was not particularly clean, there was dirt in som areas like the tub, window sills and closets. When I asked them if they could set the sofabed for my son, all they did was drop a pile of linen on the sofa, everything else was DIY. We arrived late so I had to hold my sleeping son while my 6 months pregnant wife set up the bed for him. It is a stark contrast to go from exceptional to drab and disappointing in 7 years.
