Downtown SLO Inn - San Luis Obispo

The manager, Nick, is a very nice guy who was super accommodating when we had a problem with our TV. This is one of the nicer budget downtown hotels in SLO. Close to everything, clean, and reasonably updated. I would stay here again.

Clean. Pleasantly surprised they had housekeeping to clean my room. Bathroom door wouldn’t close because shower curtain rod was in the way. Wish I could disable the bathroom motion sensor which turns on the light when I enter. Road noise being so close to 101 entrance.

The property smelled strange when we checked in and were not clean.

When I checked in the guy that helped me was trying to say I only booked the room for one person even though i showed him I booked it for two people. He tried to make me pay more but I refused to pay more when I booked it for two people the first place and he all of sudden said he’ll let two people stay.

Photos on website DO NOT represent this location. Do not stay at this place. Roaches in the bathroom and the bed. Ice maker is disgusting and the grounds are not cared for and the strange guests that appear to be living in the rooms were doing some strange things.

A bargain at $67 per night - simple, clean, convenient.

I was counting hours to wake up and get out of this place. I wouldn’t even pay $20 for this place. Sheets didn’t look clean, bed uncomfortable, room old, outdated and smells like pee. The A/c is so loud you have to switch it off…..tear it down and rebuild

This property is dirty and has bugs. Rooms look nothing like the ones shown in the photos. Ironing board was dirty. Our first room had dead bugs on our mattress and sheets. We requested a new room and this one also had bugs crawling around in it.

This was a last-minute booking and served its purpose. the property was not the cleanest but I felt comfortable and safe.

Floor was dirty, killed a cockroach in the bathroom.

The coffee paper cup gives a strong nasty smell It doesn’t meet the health standards if not poisonous

First, I don't judge budget motels against higher level properties. I actually usually like places that are a little funky. With that said, this place was pretty dreadful. I was in town with my daughter for a soccer tournament and did not have the opportunity to book well ahead of time. We have stayed in the SLO area several times, from beach hotels to higher level properties. By the time we booked, rates were sky high. I read the reviews for this property and knew it wouldn't be fabulous. However, the first impression is that it's just a little weird. Check in was fast, no more than two minutes. In that two minutes, I was told, "no pets, no, smoking, no visitors - check out at 11," at least three times. The room was hot when we opened the door. The dresser was missing a handle on one of the drawers. Half of the power outlets did not work. There was a hair in the shower drain so the water would not vacate. I pulled it out and it was the size of a small rodent, so it has not been cleaned properly in awhile. I would not stay again, but to the hotels credit, it was relatively quiet at night. The location is not great, but you are very close to the freeway to get to the nicer parts of SLO.

This property has all the basic amenities you need for a pleasant stay in a quiet yet convenient area. It was lovely

Chose this place for its low price when visiting Cal Poly. The motel is worn out but mostly functional. When checking in, I was advised three times that smoking and visitors are not allowed. As a mother of two close to age 50, I found this to be a bit odd and mostly amusing. Beds were okay and we were able to scramble up enough outlets for charging devices.

This is a very basic, no-frills motel, which was okay for a quick stop-over, but nothing more. It not within walking distance of downtown or anything else (regardless of its name).

The room was terrible. The sheets and bathroom were clean but the carpet old and grimy like all the furniture (including the bed). The carpet felt sticky to walk on and the curtains looked they had not been replaced (or cleaned since the 80s). It did not reflect the photo in the advertisement at all. I have the feeling that not all rooms were like mine and I was given one of the worst because I had prepaid and my reservation was non refundable. Not worth the money at all.
