Hampton Inn and Suites Ft Wayne-North

As a Hilton Honors Member for years, I have stayed in many Hampton Inn & Suites. This was by far the worst experience I have had at any Hilton Property. This Ft Wayne location is in major need of an update and deep cleaning. Bulbs were out in many light fixtures throughout the property and maintenance was severely lacking in all areas visited. We started in 429 and found the carpet filthy, the toilet non-functional, the sink drain plugged and the ceiling light fixture full or bugs and with light bulbs not working. We moved to 206 and found conditions tolerable for one night's stay. When I shared the above when checking out, the only reply was, "Would you like a receipt?" I would not recommend that anyone stay at this location unless they verify that an major update, heavy maintenance and a deep cleaning have been completed.

Decent place to stay

I did not like that there was no hot water for the first day and 1/2, nor the last morning. I did not like that I put out dirty towels and no clean ones were left. I did not like that I put out an empty toilet tissue roll and no full one was left. I did not like that there was no coffee one morning. I did not like that the fire alarm system went off during the night AFTER it had happened earlier that day. It was not fixed after it failed during the day. I did not like that the shade on the window fell off. I am hopeful that there will be some accomadation for these failures on my bill! - - - but the gal in charge when I left could not help with that as she was not a manager. I do not plan to be back.

Very helpful, friendly staff. Tasty breakfast, room was clean. Convenient location with food options & easy hwy access. I will stay again.

Staff was friendly but more staff are needed at front desk at nights.

Room was poor. Broken door on refrigerator cabinet, no shampoo in shower, no iron.

This was our worst hotel stay we’ve ever stayed in. We walked in and our blind to our room was laying in the floor so there was no privacy we notified front desk and they told us that there was no other room to put us, our door didn’t latch properly. We was very disappointed in our stay and will not be staying in another Hampton Inn

Wouldn't stay here again. Beware... Multiple things went poorly. Upon check-in, they ran my credit card for incidentals THEN informed me I would be charged $10 for parking. I bulked and receptionist just said "I don't make the rules." Asked if they had any vending machine or snacks for sale. No machine and very few items available. Not even bottled water. So ran to a gas station for snacks. Tried to park on back side of building with doors into the reception lobby, clearly visible by receptionist, but all doors on that side of the hotel were locked or marked out of order. So went to front side but only 1 spot available to park and large truck had already parked over line (not hotel's fault, but if I'm going to be forced to pay $10 for parking, I'd like a spot to park where I don't have to walk around the whole hotel with luggage and snacks in the dark.) But upon entering our room you instantly hear traffic VERY loudly (measured to be over 80 decibles.) But it got worse. The heat was whistling so loudly I called front desk. They said they could hear the whistling over the phone easily but said they had no other rooms available (other evidence led me to believe that was not true.) Was forced to turn off heat. Very limited room to sit and eat free breakfast. So had to take it to go (but no container for that so sat in my cold car to eat.) Also, they charge for wifi. Will not be returning. Advise consider other location.

Overall great

Overall adequate. There was mildew around caulking in the bath tub which was not satisfactory. This is an easy repair to make. Probably will not stay here again.

This hotel has given us many good stays. It was immensely busy with a lot of customers. But approaching the counter to get our room key had no line, there was no one behind it. It took about ten minutes before someone arrived to check us in. We understand. It’s busy. Over long travel, we didn’t question her wording over the room we booked (1 suite 2 beds), and went to our room. We ended using up in a king sized suite, and went to the counter to ask about it. Less than ten minutes from going to the room, checking it out, and looking back at what we had requested. This time, there was a person waiting at the counter for assistance, but no one there to help. I waited about seven minutes before walking away, ready to just deal with the room. As for sleeping, the pullout was fine, a little off that the sleeping room had its door removed, and an outlet looked less safe with what appeared to be scorch-marks. Most likely will stay here again, but may call to confirm room desired.

We unexpectedly had to bring our granddaughter, and changing our from one king bed to two queens was very easy.

The back of the building backs up to I-69. It is LOUD. If you sleep light or need silence, look elsewhere.

Carpet was filthy. Tub needed re caulking. Tile floor had broken tile. Bathroom ceiling leaked water from upper floor.

The room was good and the bed was comfortable. My less than excellent rating is due to the loud road noise. The hotel is back to back with I69. We were in room 319, the side facing the interstate. I wore foam ear plugs and used a pillow over my head, but still the noise kept me awake. My husband slept fine, but he can’t hear much without hearing aids. Besides the noise, the room was fine.

Overall, complimentary breakfast was great, egg omelets/boiled, sausage and roasted potatoes, cereal, juice, bagels, pastries, not bad at all. Staff was friendly, room was clean but shower was not cleaned- moldy. Nice small pool and workout area.

Fantastic staff. Very professional and helpful. Property is a little run down and not what I would expect from a Hampton Inn & Suites. The bathtub seal is black around the edges & there is damage to the bathroom floor from a previous apparent leak. The hallway carpeting is visibly dirty. I was looking forward to a soak in the tub, but I will definitely skip it.

Clean friendly staff

This wonderful lakefront of cottage was the perfect setting for our family get together. From the moment we walked thru the home, we could tell that no expense had been spared in making sure our stay would be memorable and relaxing. The home was clean, stocked with quality linens on the beds and both bathrooms had plenty of towels and bath supplies in the linen closet. The kitchen had all the utensils, cookware and appliances for preparing full meals. The living area was comfortable and welcoming and even had an electric recliner for my elderly father to relax in. There were games, puzzles and cards for entertainment as well. The outside area was where we spent the majority of our time. From the kayaks available to use on the lake, the Cornhole and other yard games stored in the shed and firewood stocked and dry for use at the fire pit...we were just blown away. We did fish off the dock every day and caught white bass, small mouth bass and catfish. We did have our own fishing poles that we brought from home. Overall this selection for our family vacation home was a win-win for all. And the best part was the tremendous communication and support we received from the owner of the property. This was a perfect setting for an amazing week and we hope to be back in the future!

We were located on the 4th floor on the side by the highway. It was very noisy all night long. Other than that the trip was very good. Breakfast was good and staff was very friendly.
