Holiday Inn Express CHARLESTON-CIVIC CENTER, an IHG Hotel

At the time, one of the elevators was out of order, but it wasn't too impactful thankfully. Staff was super friendly, and the breakfast was great. The pancake conveyor belt machine was a bit weird and the pancakes were a bit gummy, but the novelty was interesting. Bonus for having a checkout at noon as opposed to the industry standard of 11am.

Good the lady in the front desk when I arrived was good. I can believe the lady at the end wasn't good in treatment. Specially when I tell her my complain about the dirt in the shower.

I’ve stayed at nice Holiday Ins before, but this one was disappointing. Missing lightbulb, door unlocked when we checked in, no hairdryer, staff seemed uninterested. Guys hanging around the outside of the entrance smoking and drinking.

Elevator (one) out service made long waits getting to and from our rooms. Redoing parking lot so no place to park without going next door.

I arrived right at 3, they questioned if I really wanted the room I rented. Then kept pushing the time back to check in. I wasn’t able to go to my room for 30 minutes after stating I would be going anyway. The dirtiest pool I’ve ever seen.

The 2 hosts at the front desk were very rude when I went to check in. I said hi and they didn’t acknowledge me and went straight into asking for my information. Extremely short with me, didn’t tell me when breakfast was and checkout instructions. The bathroom had crumbs on the counter. Overall poor experience.

The location is great. The property was more on the dirty side. They seem to be doing some renovations. The Parking was terrible but only due to it being re paved. The breakfast was on the bland side. The tub could use better cleaning . The elevator was super hot and needed a good cleaning. I probably won’t stay here again the comfort inn where my mother in law stayed was much cheaper and very clean.

Room was nice. Only one elevator was working. Parking lot was mostly blocked off for big construction vehicles to park so hard to find a spot. On day of check out, Housekeeping knocked lightly on our door and proceeded to enter before we could even get to the door.

There is no handicapped parking available.

Good breakfast, comfortable bed, pillows and blankets.

Quiet area, kind staff, surprisingly good hot breakfast.
