Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Springfield

A good quality hotel, rooms are the best when compared to nearby competition in similar price range. I moved here when my stay was extended and the Crowne Plaza across the street was sold out. Microtel has free coffee, free breakfast, 10% off nearby restaurants, and free delivery from Rancho Chico, a nearby Mexican restaurant. I have not looked back! My go-to hotel when visiting this area from now on!

The room hadn't been cleaned properly. Fixtures were falling off the walls.

The hotel is in a quiet area of Springfield, close enough to I-55. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by Robin at the front desk. She was very kind to me. For future guests at this hotel - please be nice to the front desk staff here. They do treat you well. The room I intially checked into on the first floor was actually very clean and comfortable but I quickly noticed that the guests in the room next to me were loud and obnoxious. I asked Robin if I could relocate to a different room. She made accommodations for me. I was relocated to a room on the 3rd floor. The room I relocated to was very quiet and peaceful but not nearly as clean. The previous guests left opened yogurt and fruit in the refrigerator. Because it wasn't discarded by the cleaning staff, the entire room smelled. Badly. There also appeared to be "residue" on the toilet seat. I'm a low maintenance guy. Just intolerant to loud noises. So I just aired the room out and cleaned the bathroom with bleach wipes that I bought at a store nearby. After that, everything was for okay. Obviously, it should go without saying, that guests shouldn't have to go through this. So my stay at Microtel wasn't awfu but wasn't great. My opinion, the location and front desk service of this hotel both stand as its best qualities. And it's not too pricey. But if this hotel can just find a way update their rooms to modern standards and fix the cleaning service, it could be a gem in the south side of Springfield.

No soap to wash your hands not to mention some shampoo like most hotels, toilet seat was really loose and what stretch to reach the toilet paper! I would avoid this place next time I pass through.

This was a very nice hotel but unfortunately for us there was a party in the room adjoining ours that lasted until 4am. Very difficult to sleep with loud talking and banging on the wall. Disappointing considering we were in the middle of a very long driving trip and needed to get an early start.

Dog next room was constantly barking constantly.

When I went to check in I was asked for 200.00 cash deposit and when I said no way they lowered to 100.00 again, was not giving a cash deposit when I secured room with a credit card. The desk clerk proceeded to tell me since my address on ID showed I lived in the same town I was staying in they required a cash deposit. Told them I didn't live in town any longer but had not had the chance to update my DL. It was only then that they accepted my cc for incidentals. I went to room and the door was propped open and there was a smell of paint, an almost empty paint can in the bathroom, and paper on the floor. They left the door to the attached to the next room unlocked. Obviously, maintenance was doing some work but had not cleared out the room. As far as the room it was clean and the bed and pillows were confortable.

Carpet smelled breackfist was good need more tables to eat at pool was down so should of got money off for that

Staff was very friendly and helpful. A five to ten minute car ride to all Lincoln historical sites.
