Good staff helped a lot

Even though there is a no smoking policy, the hallway strongly smelled of marijuana. The rooms are nice sized and the beds are comfy. Good location. Walkable distance to many places.

Front staff was very polite and courteous. The room I got 339 stunk of pee. Like if someone mopped the floor with pee. I got the manager of the shift to come up and confirm. Since I arrived late to check in. There was no housekeeping. The next morning I let that manager know I was out of the room and if housekeeping can figure out what the smell is and clean the room. When I got back that afternoon, nothing was cleaned. And room still smelt of urine. I did however get a deodorizer to spray the room which only masked the smell and it came back. I stayed two nights. And not once was housekeeping in to clean. Checking out I did notify the staff member and they gave me a small discount.

Could definitely use some upgrades. I had a suite, but some of the chairs were so grungy I wouldn't dare sit in them. And the elevator broke down so I was walking to the 7th floor. 😒

There was no heat in the room. The heater did not work. Its 20 degrees outside. It was not feasible to stay. We left and i was told your company must refund my money. It cant be legal to charge for a room that doesn't have heat. Room reeked of cigarettes

I stayed in room 341 it was dirty walk in and there was fake nails in the dresser there was dirty stained seat , the wall by the bed has like a drink spilled on the walls and floor, it looks like its been there for awhile. Hallway was very dirty garbahe everywhere look like it havent been vacuum in awhile . The smell of the room was a nasty smell. But the manager n staff were ver nice and professional.

If you don't care for cigarette smell, no ice machine, slightly dirty room, and cheap rooms. This hotel is for you. Service was okay, receptionist was nice. Close to downtown Boise and sushi place, which was a plus for us. To be frank, it did justice for us. Especially for just one night.

If this Red Lion were independently owned and operated, I would cut them some slack as trying to maintain a business in an industry of thin margins. However, the once iconic Red Lion brand has found a new low. I would give it one star, but those are usually reserved for fanatics who cannot be believed. Just stay away. That's my best advice.

There were several homeless/transient/houseless people obviously placed there; not all, but most were very impolite, rude, and several (at least 6 times over 3 days) asked me for money or food I could spare. The people in the room next to me smoked cigarettes on the balcony and the smoke wafted into my room when I had the sliding door open for fresh air…my laptop and business papers were stolen from in front of my door when I stepped onto elevator for only a brief moment; the room was somewhat clean, there was dust/dirt on floor, table and counter, the bathroom floor was dirty, the tub had yummy film on sides, the shower door had soap scum and the vanity mirrors were smeared. The bed was comfortable. The sofa and chairs were very outdated, dirty, and stained. Lighting was poor. Great view of the mountains and downtown city. Staff was pleasant, only one person available at front most times I stopped by, could not help locate my stolen property, told me to cal police, police responded, but people in room next door refused to answer door. Many many many visitors and noise with the “housed” people. Food was good. Atmosphere with all the homeless/transient people was very offsetting. I will not stay here again.

Overall a very good experience for a very affordable price. Nowhere near as pricey as hotels right in the middle of downtown but still only about a 10 minute walk.

The staff there is always more than helpful and I can't say enough about the the state that the staff makes there it's absolutely wonderful especially Ben

Not a good hotel to stay at

The beds are very comfortable and the rooms were clean. The over all hotel needs a cosmetic update pretty bad. The staff was courteous and welcoming. It would be nice if the hotel would have a security staff on site. There was several questionable people that were staying that were obviously using drugs and disrupting the peace. I did have to call the main office due to no one at the reception picking up. There was a woman passed out in the hall way that was intoxicated and smelled like marijuana.

Red Lion is low quality, very dirty and not well maintained. This location in particular has quite the population of homeless milling inside and outside the establishment. Will never stay here again.

This property is not in a good area and the people who stay there are a little sketchy. No control over the heat of the room so it was a sauna in the room. It smelled of smoke and stagnate air. good to stay and get out but not good if a you are bringing a family.

Staff was amazing the rooms where super clean and the price is amazing

I prefer carpet in the room vs hardwood. The property needs updating, and my room could’ve been cleaner. The bedding & towels were clean. I did enjoy the location for walking downtown.
