Had to stay here for a night while waiting for a flight as the property suggests smoke-free the hallways were filled with marijuana smoke and a strong presence of illegal prostitution in and out the building the room was clean neighborhood is sketchy as all get out the gentleman that checked us in was pretty nice I do not suggest buying anything from the lobby cuz it's overpriced furthermore this isn't necessary link to the establishment but my wife and I ordered doordash and our order was stolen four different times from doordashers it was quite the overnight stay

I stayed at the Red Roof Plus Hotel in New York for 2 nights and had a great experience. The staff was very nice and welcoming, which made the stay even better. My room was clean, comfortable, and well-kept. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting New York.

The area of the property is horrible I had to leave the same day I checked in. There was people smoking and just hanging on the corner. Not to mention the condition of the elevator, the room and the floor it was very dirty. Not tourist friendly unless you are ok with people smoking weed and hanging around. I was very disappointed because on the pictures it was so nice. And this is the second bad encounter I’ve had with red roof.

Needed an inexpensive place to stay to see a concert with my daughter at UBS arena. Jamaica LIRR was about a 10 min walk and very easy to get to. There is no on-site parking but there is a parking lot that is a 4 min walk away (use SpotHero). The location of the hotel may shock some guests who've never stayed in a working class neighborhood. It reminded me of the neighborhood that I grew up in so I wasn't as shocked as some other reviewers. There are restaurants along the Sutphin Blvd that are walkable (use Yelp), though we opted for a bunch spot that was 15 mins away by car. As for the room, it was small but it was just me and my daughter and we just needed a place to change, shower and sleep. Nothing fancy. All boxes checked. However, it was a bit loud. We could hear the cars outside zooming by and could hear the other people in their rooms. It wasn't enough to wake up my daughter but know that sound travels. It's a basic 2-star hotel that checked the boxes and fit my budget. That said, if I'm in the area again I may spring the extra money and stay at the Holiday Inn Express that was closely

Not the best area, bathroom had hairs all over the sink. I was on the 7th floor and the noise from the streets was INSANE. Not ideal for price point

We enjoyed our stay room was very cold just like we like it

El hotel se encuentra en un área no muy segura, demasiados indigentes y gente tomando en la calle y peleando con la persona que pasa, el check in terrible, la persona a cargo nada agradable, el hotel sucio es poco, en verdad parecía que nunca habían limpiado desde la apertura, muy muy sucio, parece que está recién remodelado y si estuviera limpio se vería muy bien pero está terriblemente sucio y descuidado, por la noche demasiado ruido de los indigentes y de gente peleando en la calle, gritos, carros muy rápido, etc Esa noche en la habitación de al lado se estaban peleando fuerte y la verdad nos dio algo de miedo ya que no había ningún guardia que pudiera controlar la situación, la pelea duró algunos minutos y luego ya no se escuchó nada, estaban fumando cigarros de esos que dan risa y olía todo el piso, en fin, no recomiendo quedarse en este hotel La habitación está muy bonita pero muy sucia, mocos en las paredes, basura en las esquinas, solo la cama si estaba muy limpia, como nada más íbamos una noche y era tarde, decidimos quedarnos solo a dormir y al día siguiente a correr de ahí !!

We stayed at the Red Roof Hotel in Jamaica, New York, mainly for its convenient location near Jamaica Station — and that’s definitely the biggest advantage of this place. However, there were several downsides to our stay. When we arrived, there was no one at the reception desk. We had to wait over 15 minutes just to be attended to, which was frustrating after a long and tiring flight. While the room itself was clean, the overall environment didn’t feel very safe or comfortable. The area was extremely noisy at night, with frequent sirens and police activity, making it hard to rest. The toiletries were very basic — the shampoo and conditioner were unbranded, and the soap was barely enough. No complimentary breakfast was offered, and everything at the hotel came at an extra charge, including small items like snacks and drinks. Even the supposedly free coffee at reception was cold and uninviting. For the level of service and overall experience, the hotel was seriously overpriced. You’re essentially paying for location, not comfort or convenience.

The food options were good. Spaghetti and meatballs tasted good and was a sizeable portion.
