Delicious breakfast. Comfortable bed, clean room and bathroom. Quiet.

Lovely room, had a good sleep and nice breakfast in the morning. Needed clearer instructions on where was best to park, very confusing on where the non permit parking was on the street.

Good value stay, ideal for exploring. Great for exploring Barry Island and very friendly staff. Also nice breakfast.

Excellent Value for Money. We booked for just the one night as visiting family in the area and just needed somewhere to rest overnight. Gail's Guest House provided everything we needed. My wife and I had the twin en-suite on the second floor; you need to be ok with stairs as no lift, but the beds were comfortable, the room and en-suite very clean and lovely and quiet at night. We had no trouble finding free on-street parking just around the back of the Guest House and had our own key for easy access at any time. Cooked English breakfast items were pre-ordered by 9pm the previous evening with options for a 30-minute time slot to suit. Lyndon and Claudine were in the open-style kitchen / dining room the next morning to cook / deliver our cooked breakfast as ordered. Other self-serve buffet style tea, coffee, juices, cereals, fruits, yogurts etc. were also available as required. Lyndon and Claudine were on hand for any little extras and couldn't have been more cheerful and polite. All-in-all, a clean, well run, comfortable family guest house at amazing value for what you get. Thank you.

The location of Gail's Guest House was perfect for our stay. The included breakfast was a nice touch. We appreciated the wifi code along with emergency contact details being given to us on arrival with our key. The host was very welcoming.

I stayed at the B&B for one night. Service was brilliant. Couldn’t fault the people they were very friendly.

This was my second stay in this lovely guest house this year. As before, the room was clean and quiet with everything I needed (and more!). There was a fantastic choice of breakfast items and the host was extremely welcoming and helpful.

Really lovely guest house in a quiet location but just a short walk from the railway station and centre of town. The room was very comfortable, the breakfast excellent and the host extremely welcoming.

Very homely would stay here every time I'm in Barry.

This was a last minute trip, we wanted guest house that was near hotel, not far to walk into centre. A quiet location, street parking but seemed safe, just look out for permit parking signs(guest house did give us plenty of information) a good breakfast, so quite a good stay. There was just a couple of things that hadn't been done, mirror in bathroom still had marks on it and there was used and empty complementary toiletries still in the shower, it wasn't a problem but just wasn't nice to see. A good guest house for a visit to Barry Island

Very comfortable overnight stay, welcoming owner on arrival, very friendly service at breakfast and a lovely tasty breakfast with lots of options to choose from, will definitely stay again if in the area and would recommend.

I was there for three nights on a business trip. Bed was comfortable, the breakfast was delicious and the staff were amazing. I'll be back

The room was clean,but the rest not, dinning room needs a good clean breakfast not good,needs a inspection especially for the price you pay

Owner welcoming and accommodating in every way. Just felt a bit unloved with cleanliness in rooms. Comfortable but broken light fittings and just missing stars for cleanliness

I have stayed here twice before. The welcome from Lyndon is great. The breakfast is freshly cooked and plenty of it. Beds are comfortable and the bathroom was clean. However the wardrobe was in need of repair and the fridge had old food in it. The bedside cabinets had a layer of dust but I base my review on comfort and hospitality

We had a lovely stay at Gails. I received a phonecall earlier in the day from Lucy to say that the boiler was not working and they were unable to get anyone to fix it so they would be refunding us half of the cost back which was very nice of them as this was not their fault and these things happen. Checking in was easy, parking was fine, the room was lovely, comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was included and was very nice. If i'm ever in Barry again I would definitely stay at Gail's again. Thank you for a lovely stay :)

No greeting on arrival, just a few notes regarding door keys, breakfast order a drawn diagram showing limited parking choices. Bed was comfortable. Could probably do with a lampshade over bare bulb in the bedroom. Breakfast not great… the cooking was performed in the kitchen which was part of the dining area ( food boxes stored under the serving table) low quality ingredients, shame. The guest house frontage including the dining area/ kitchen needs some updating.

shower stall had mold all around the bottom and up between some of the tiles. I have asthma so didn’t want to take a shower. Since that is the last place we stayed prior to leaving Wales, I found most of my clothes in the luggage had a mildew smell. I knew it was on the 3rd floor with no elevator but the steps are very narrow to lug luggage up. tiny room with difficulty maneuvering around. would not go again and not recommend. I was also disappointed that I had sent an email a few weeks before coming to Wales to find out what kind of transportation would be available at 3:00 am when we had to leave for the airport and got no response. No directions on where to leave keys when leaving so left them at desk in hallway—no security.
