Amazing hotel with outstanding customer service. We’re from Australia and on bicycles. We were warmly welcomed the moment we arrived and made to feel special! The food was exceptional! Dinner and breakfast surpassed our expectations. We’ve been travelling for 4 years so it was a lovely surprise ( congratulations to the chef!) The only negative comment is that the location on google maps is incorrect so we ended up cycling an extra 10 kms ! However just a minor point as the hotel certainly was a 10/10 for us.

Hospitality and service from staff are especially wonderful

Staff were wonderful and helpful. Dining room is spacious and lovely. Supper and breakfast meals were excellent. The building is showing some wear. The pool seemed very cloudy so unsafe to swim in my opinion.

Compared to some of the other places we'd stayed during our travels through Africa, the beds and rooms were quite comfortable and the showers were absolutely splendid. In June we were a bit chilly in the dining room, the dining room opens to the bar/lounge which opens to the pool area. Some sliding glass doors would be nice there.

The staff were very polite and attentive, great customer service! The premises are beautiful and well taken care of. The room’s bathroom had a stale smell and I thought I smelled cigarette smoke at one point (the staff kept it clean it has more to do with ventilation )

Our second stay at this property within a month, staff greeted us as friends. Due to a political disturbance in Malawi we had been unable to reach the hotel on the original booking date and cancelled after the deadline but the unusual circumstances were taken into consideration and we did not have to pay twice.

It was a great stay, staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was full buffet with eggs made to order. Absolutely delicious. Only thing I would hope for is for rooms that have 2 queen beds.

I enjoyed this hotel with both the service and overall condition of the hotel itself. It is in a good surroundings, the staff are very helpful and friendly. I will definitely stay there on my next trip.

Protea Chipata is fairly priced and real value for money for a business trip. Friendly staffs and good food

It was a short stay but it was quite good.

We had booked one night as a stopover one our way to Lusaka, but unfortunately we had a problem with the car next morning 150 km after we left Chipata. Got a lift back to the hotel where the reception were very helpful and got in contact with a good mechanic (on a Sunday). In the end the whole family returned to Chipata and had to stay for another two nights, while the car got fixed. But a really nice stay, the surroundings are nothing spectacular situated along the main road, but the rooms and the service were really good, the food was fantastic and cheap and the pool facilities also nice. All in all an unexpected pleasant hotel.

I regularly visit this hotel. Past experience has shown that this is probably the best hotel in Chipata in terms of efficiency and the friendliness of the staff. Nathan in the restaurant and Andrew in the bar are always particularly welcoming.
