The place is unique. Set in its own 8000 acres concession, centred on a waterhole frequented by dozens of elephants daily. Beautiful main lodge and great accommodation, tented and straw roofed platforms where the elephants pass and watch you in the outdoor shower or bathtub.

(luxury) safari lodges in Zimbabwe can not be compared to those In for example South Africa. We missed our cappuccino. But who cares if seated in the wilderness surrounded by big herds of elephants and even one night 300! buffalo's. Even saw a leopard near the lodge. Staff is extremely friendly and makes you feel at home. A pleasant ranger King and good accommodation. Definitely a place to go back to. Really felt sad that we had to leave. The only disadvantage is that it is a 45 min. drive to the main park Hwange. But you will cross the lodge own private reserve so animals can be seen there as well.

Khulu Lodge is beautiful and the wild-life abundant right in and around it! The elephants drinking from the plunge pool are a highlight! Even more so when the whole so called Presidential Herd of 300 of them turns up. Our 'room/tent' with thatched roof was luxurious and comfortable, the out door shower where elies come to watch you is great and the out door bath tub is the top of 'safari luxury'. Fabulous tours in Hwange National Park proper guided by Dardley our perfect guide brought us more elies, cheetah, giraffe, gnu and antelopes galore. Interesting and instructive visit to the Painted dog sanctuary.

Fabulous tours in Hwange National Park proper guided by Dardley our perfect guide brought us more elies, cheetah, giraffe, gnu and antelopes galore. Interesting and instructive visit to the Painted dog sanctuary.
