My first impression was it seemed empty. Not a lot of cars in the parking lot and upon entering looked quiet. Renovations definitely going on. The room was definitely recently done and was sparkling clean. Only negative was the walls are pretty thin so you hear every door closing. Great staff. Very helpful with every question. Left something behind and called. They were very responsive in trying to help us out and called me back to let me know they located the item.

Quite and beautiful surroundings, nice property, modern and clean rooms but the water in the shower takes forever to warm up

The renovations look great! I have stayed at The PennStater many times and always have a wonderful stay. This was my first visit in one of the newly renovated king rooms. Love the new decor in the bedroom and bathroom. The only issue was a clogged drain in the shower.

Nice hotel but renovations and Constance access difficult. We couldn’t use the front entrance.

Beautiful property Super friendly staff Breakfast was a bit bland for $20 but it was off season with very few people so it’s understandable We forgot an item in the room - staff was super friendly and prompt in getting item from room to front desk for pick up

As of June 30, 2025, the beautiful lobby you see in the online promotional pictures is GONE. It is under renovation and completely torn apart. Guests are forced to enter into a makeshift “lobby” on the other side of the building. The Hotel itself is located apart from all the goings on in State College and Penn State. If you want to be close to the action in town and at the college, this is *not* the place for you. Driving down Innovation Boulevard to the hotel is an experience like no other and not in a good way. Everything was deserted. No people No cars. I wondered if the apocalypse had happened. Really weird! The room itself was clean and comfortable but maybe a little outdated. Hotel-wide renovations are currently underway. Not sure if they will be completed in 2025.

Staff was very accommodating, room was spacious and clean. We stayed during remodel, so update was pending.

Wish I knew about the construction. People were very nice.

Not the normal stay as the hotel is under construction. If you are drilling walls the room on the other side should NOT be an rentable option. Loud doesn’t cover it (beyond even a description) and because they sold out my room couldn’t be changed. I do get a restaurant voucher, but I would gladly trade that for a room.

The shower needs to be updated. Rust around drain and tub a little aged.

Hotel was clean. We had a nice stay
