I chose the Royal Pedregal expecting a classic CDMX experience, but the reality was quite frustrating. The hotel is relatively "fine" on the surface, but once you are in your room, the problems begin.
The Room & Amenities:
Non-functional equipment: Both the refrigerator and the AC were broken.
Indifferent Service: When I reported the fridge, the staff literally told me, "Yeah, those don't work," and offered no fix or apology.
Poor Maintenance: The shower pressure was very low, and only two out of the three elevators were functioning, leading to long waits.
Facilities & Dining:
Pool: I was looking forward to using the pool, but it was closed/out of service because the heater was broken.
Restaurant: The food was genuinely bad. It lacked flavor and didn't meet the standard you'd expect from a hotel of this size.
Overall, the hotel feels old and poorly managed. There are much better options in the Pedregal area for the same price.
