Lovely hotel, we will absolutely be back!

Excellent facilities including spa, pool and golf course with good dining and excellent buffet breakfast. Very attentive and helpful staff. Easy access to London with fast trains and also to M4. Die englische Provinz ist herrlich grün, Golfhotels bieten normalerweise etwas mehr Komfort und Platz. Deshalb habe ich für meine Frau extra eine Suite gebucht – was man uns zunächst gab, war allerdings eine Frechheit: ein dunkles Loch mit Blick auf eine Ziegelwand. Warum versucht man eigentlich immer wieder, Ausländern die schlechtesten Zimmer zuzuschieben? Nach längerer Diskussion bekamen wir immerhin eine helle und geräumige Suite, inklusive Entschuldigung. Schade nur, dass die Mängelliste weiterging: verstopfter Abfluss, halb defekte Steckdosen, kaputter Safe, zwei Fernseher, die gleichzeitig anspringen, aber einzeln ausgeschaltet werden müssen. Auch die Preisvorstellung für die Verlängerungsnacht war zunächst dreist – fast doppelt so teuer. Insgesamt schade: attraktive Umgebung, aber wenig Motivation, den Gästen wirklich einen angenehmen Aufenthalt zu bieten. Immerhin hat sich die Dame an der Rezeption ehrlich bemüht zu helfen.

Did not use spa

Toilet did not work upon arrival. A simple check prior to releasing the room would have avoided the problem. Beware of additional spa charges. I booked the room so my disabled partner could swim. However the charges were listed below where I had to select my chosen room type. By below, I mean below ALL the other room types. So despite sellinn you the spa dream, they drip feed additional charges. They also charge you 5 GBP per person for room service. Very disappointing for my wife and hard to see why I would recommend.

The room was lovely: spacious and clean with a big window. The beds were super comfy and cosy. We drank some delicious local sparkling wine and enjoyed a tasty dinner. Loved the swimming pool and facilities. The staff were charming and very helpful. Couldn't rate it more highly.

Nice hotel. Restaurant is mega expensive

Very clean and modern hotel, public areas were in excellent deco, our room would have benefited from updating and was a little tied, although clean and comfortable. The Pool and Spa area was very good and food in the evening and breakfast was very tasty, however only scrambled egg on offer, although we did not ask about alternatives. Would have expected a little more breakfast variety for £16 per head. Overall staff were very friendly, helpful and provided and brilliant service, would definitely stay again.

What a beautiful hotel! Very stylish the bar and dining room felt like an exclusive ski lodge, with a warming fire and soft background music. Staff were lovely throughout. We had a basic classic room and that was absolutely fine nothing more required.

It was a special visit and we met family and friends for the Saturday lunch together. The restaurant staff really made us feel welcome and the food was excellent. All the staff were very friendly. A special mention form Charlotte who helped me arrange the event.

Good service in the bar and restaurant and was easy to amend our booking. Was disappointed with the room for the money we paid.

Very tired rooms I’m need of a refurb. Overpriced food. Additional costs for the Spa not communicated to us upon arrival. Felt the hotel was trying to maximise our spend for very average food, facilities and service. They can’t charge a premium rate for such tired rooms so therefore try to make us spend a lot on overpriced food and hidden spa access costs. Many of the showers were also not working in the spa. We won’t be back
