The staff was very kind and helpful and even brought us up a tray of chocolates as we had stayed there previously. The hotel is very clean and in a great location.

Breakfast was very good. Room could have had a better view. The room itself was very nice.

We booked two nights at The Alex after a month of touring around Europe, as our return flights to Australia were booked from Dublin. I was impressed the moment we walked in the door, we were given a warm welcome by Simon at reception - which was very pleasant and appreciated, especially having just arrived from Spain where we had endured quite a bit of bad service to put it kindly. The hospitality remained consistently fantastic during our entire stay - I must commend the professionalism and kindness of everyone who works here! It was the perfect place to stay for a short rest, as we really just wanted somewhere to rest and relax before the journey home. The beds were very comfortable we had the best sleep! Breakfast was included and absolutely delicious too! The location is grand! It’s just far enough from the busy part of the city and yet still just 10 minute walk to Grafton Street which is fantastic! There’s a few lovely pubs about too - we had dinner at The Lincoln Inn to have a nice hearty Irish stew and hospitality when we landed, which felt like a warm hug and tasted like home. Highly recommend this hotel, it will not disappoint! I will be making Dublin my main hub for flying in/out of Europe from now on, and will definitely choose The Alex for the place to relax and rejuvenate!

Excellent stay! The staff was incredibly attentive, welcoming, and helpful throughout our visit. The location is perfect for walking around and exploring the area. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully kept. Everything exceeded our expectations, and we would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

The staff was most helpful at every point of our stay. Whine dinner was excellent, menu choices were limited, overall, however a 10 out of 10 for the five day stay at The Alex.

I booked three rooms. The room for my two girls with twin beds had a few issues. They had some mold in the shower, the coffee maker didn’t work properly and house keeping couldn’t decide if the twin beds should be pushed together or pulled apart. Everything was wonderful for the other two rooms. When I did have an issue with housekeeping not serving the room, and let the front desk know, things were resolved. In fact, the room was serviced promptly, a hand written apology note was left and complimentary chocolate covered strawberries and a voucher for drinks were left. Simon was particularly helpful with booking breakfast at the last minute and arranging a taxis. Things happen, but how The Alex handles issues when made aware speaks volumes.

We were greeted by a gentleman named Simon. He was one of the biggest reasons why our stay went from average to outstanding. The property is a good location and everything was very clean and the beds were comfortable. But Simon went away above and beyond to make us feel welcome, to accommodate some very basic needs we had and treated us so very special. He probably does this with everybody, but Simon’s standard of service should be taught to other colleagues of his at the front desk, who did not share his sense of service. He also had someone that worked the night shift named Renzo, who was equally as sweet and made us copy before the kitchen opened up and accommodated a taxi ride to the airport We will always come back to the Alex when coming into Dublin again thank you Simon Thank you to the Alex for hiring this young man

The Alex is well located to tour Dublin. Many attractions are within walking distance and lots of public transit options. Many restaurants, cafes and pubs nearby. The Alex staff were exceptional (special mention to Simon). The rooms are spacious with modern, stylish decor. We stayed two different occasions between organized tours. We would select this hotel again without hesitation.

Good size room, well appointed. Wifi good. Great breakfast. Location good as well. Close to Trinity/walking distance to everything. Would definitely stay again!
