We stayed at this hotel for 1 night and found it to be great. The staff were really helpful, the pool was lovely and warm and the rooms were clean. The only issue we had was that the hotel was obviously having problems with water pressure. We could have a boiling hot shower but if you tried to turn the cold tap on, the whole lot stopped working. Other guests were having the same problem and it was also causing issues in the pool area. We spoke to the lady at reception and asked if we could have a room with a shower that worked. She went upstairs herself to check the shower in an unoccupied room and gave us a new key. We were very happy to find that we had been upgraded which was a nice surprise. We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent. I also had a massage in the spa and it was probably the best massage I've ever had. It wasn't perfect, but problems were dealt with efficiently and the atmosphere was really friendly. I would stay again.

Starting to look a bit tired and chintzy, think 80s curry house crossed with a a 90s golf club. Whoever is the designer of the interior and brand needs to step back and allow someone with fresh eyes to have a go, it has great potential

Even though there are positives in that this hotel is located in a quiet area and has ample parking I do not know how it is rated a 4 star. The decor is from the 70’s and needs a serious update. Even though the website says there is a fan in the room I had to go down to reception and ask for one. The carpets need replacing and there is no ramp into the reception area so you have to carry any luggage up and down stairs. No fridge in the room either. The wi-if was so bad I couldn’t have a 5 minute conversation without the signal being dropped 3 times. I did not use the pool/gym facilities or eat in the restaurant. I would not stay here again.

Great stay at the Methu Belstead. Quiet, spacious area with great pool and spa.

Breakfast is excellent! You should be aware that if you book half board, dinner is from a limited menu, not from the a la carte menu. However you can pay an extra supplement to order from the a la carte. This was not made clear when booking.

A lovely stay, beautiful hotel with friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble and we were very well looked after.We had a spa day and stay booked to celebrate a Birthday and the cream tea was delicious.

Breakfast was very good and freshly cooked. Plenty of choice with continental breakfast too. Room was clean but a little tired in places. The shower head needed descaling but bathroom was pretty clean. The pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna were all an added bonus to our stay and very clean as well. The staff were exemplary. Very polite, helpful and courteous. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds and is very ornately decorated and furnished. A great base for exploring Suffolk.

The bedroom wasn’t very clean, floors had not been hoovered and bathroom had a lot of limescale in shower. Plenty of storage space for clothes. Breakfast was nice in the morning just very pricey for what you get.

We love this hotel, have been a few times but this wasn’t the best experience. We arrived and the pool heating was down, travel with me and my daughter and that’s the main reason we love the hotel which made it almost unusable. Then used the restaurant which was busier than normal, large roudy crowd and we were first ignored then essentially rushed out, only given 3 as when I have stayed before it had been brilliant.

Room was comfy and always clean! Staff was friendky and easy to approach

Had such a lovely time, returning in July for the ABBA tribute band! The reception staff very friendly and professional.
