It was a mixed experience. The biggest highlight was the restaurant staff — they were truly the gem of the place. Service at the buffet (Albatross) and other restaurants was consistently attentive and friendly. The pool games and organizers also added a fun, lively energy to the pool area that we really appreciated. Another plus was the 24-hour snack bar, which my son absolutely loved.
That said, there were several drawbacks. The food was hit or miss — some dishes were great, but many were bland or disappointing, especially at the buffet. A major frustration was being constantly approached by staff trying to sell local tours. Even after declining once, we were asked repeatedly, which became annoying.
We did end up booking an Isla Mujeres tour through the resort, and it was a huge letdown. We asked to spend most of the day at the beach, but were instead shuttled through a tight schedule with little beach time, bad food, and overcrowded areas. It felt misleading and not worth the price.
The resort itself reminded me of a La Quinta — decent for the price but definitely in need of some updates. As our first resort experience, it gave us a better idea of what to look for next time.
