We wanted a hotel that is near the beach, affordable and also with easy access to town centre. Unfortunately this hotel is extremely run down. I heard that some of the executive suites have been remodelled (only rooms with aircon!) but the standard room we stayed in was in a terrible condition. Wallpaper on the walls and ceiling were peeling off, mold on all silicons in the bathroom and the shower head was orange from build up. We had an unfortunate timing as another room had left their water running which left us and some other rooms without any cold water. The staff offered us a single room to take a shower and also a complimentary late check-out which we greatly appreciated. Overall, if you can get a good price on the hotel, it's probably alright. If you're sensitive to cleanliness, I would not recommend this place. The staff were nice and accommodating.

Rooms are clean and good sizes, only some have aircon. Pool was lovely bar staff friendly and very helpful made us feel welcome.

Serious group system issue meant my confirmed booking was not received at the hotel and I had to find somewhere else. Arrived at 6pm. Several people waiting to check in. One person on reception. No booking for me, despite messages from the hotel. Over an hour and a half later confirmed there would be no room for me. I asked to pay for a room. Offered a room in the sister East Cliff hotel which was hot and grotty. Will avoid the OYO name in future.

The room was excellent with vast views of the sea with a beautiful bay window and very comfortable furniture layout. Staff for generally very helpful. Unfortunately, one has to pay quite handsomely for parking and now even for towels by the pool

Insufficient staff numbers to ensure bar and restaurant were both covered at meal times. Having to pay for breakfast each day as unable to book in advance. In spite of being informed that rooms would have a daily refresh (not clean) this also had to asked for by using a QR code! My general feeling is that while the building and decorations are in good order the service has declined significantly since my visit last year, having said that most stafff members i met were friendly and helpful.

Needs a lot of love and TLC

This fading gem was originally a 5 star hotel in eras gone by, hosting famous people and the rich. It is now in a sad state, with much needed repair and renovation to the building and facilities. The pool is not very ckean, cloudy and has an unrepaired leak that has been left, and the hose has to constantly fill the pool. The filter unit is sticking up from the pool bottom and remains unrepaired with the end of the pool blocked off The breakfast costing £14.50 pp was the worst I have had in years. No clean mugs so paper cups instead. Hot buffet mostly cold and eggs undercooked. Very little food kn offer. One type of pastry with one burnt croissant left! No cheese or ham and little choice to spread on toast. Sticky mess left uncleared up in front of tea coffee machine. On plus side Clipper tea bags were good. Other plusses were lovely sea view from room. Suoerior room was very spacious with small stone balcony. Great shame that hotel and facilities have let to get into disrepair. On a final note parking in hotel car park is £20.00 per day!! Lovely location right opposite zig zag to beach, crying shame about the state of hotel and restaurant, bar.

The property overall is in very poor condition. A lack of cleanliness is clear throughout the property. My room was very average, mould was found at the bottom of the shower tray and stains on the walls.

great location, huge room

Room only. Website said self parking but this was at the back of the hotel and run by a different company, another £35. Hotel was tired. Lift broken down but small service one working for the bags but we used the stairs. Outdoor pool was dirty. Check in was not until 16.00. We had a coach of youth rugby players and staff staying at the hotel so we had kids running about the bar and disturbances in the corridors late at night and the fire alarm was set off twice at two in the morning. (somebody smoking in the rooms) Hotel is in a good position for a short walk to the beach. and pier area. I left my bag in the bar at night and the staff had it at reception for me the next day a great indication of honesty. We didn't use the restaurant for breakfast or dinner so can;t comment on this area of the hotel. I had also booked a room for friends who were on the same floor and they experienced the same disrupted nights sleep.

Ideal overnight whilst attending a function

Room is hot, they provided small fan in the room- but still won't give you good sleep. Toilet is disgusting, dirty and need to replaced new one! Room is old, and needs complete refurbishment. What annoyed me most, wifi was not working- and we complained about all the issues we raised- however no compensation was given. Elevator not working, indoor pool is super tiny, outdoor pool is dirty and not allowed to use ( under maintenance ). Parking charges is ridicilous, £20 per night, £1.60 text notification charge. They almost charged us twice- so hence better to keep an eye of your expenses. Please think twice before booking this hotel.

Enjpyed all facilities, only removed a star as the pool closes quite early.

Tired hotel, bathrooms need a massive overhaul. When checking in your questioned if you'd like housekeeping, yes please! Nothing until the fourth day, then they're banging on the door at 10 despite checkout being 11.

Its a bit tired but fine. Nice big room and comfortable bed. View over the carpark sadly with a noisy fan or generator or something directly below so couldn't open windows due to the noise, that would be an issue in the summer i expect and wont be a problem for all the rooms. About a 15 min walk to the station or to town. Wish I'd booked direct as expedia was almost double their onsite price
