We got a room on the first floor of the building number 7. I imagine one of the worst buildings and one of the worst rooms, cause otherwise I cannot justify the positive reviews. The building was old, the room even older. It is in a desperate need of renovation. Long list of small issues that we tried to fix but eventually gave up. Old furniture that is falling apart and hasn’t been clean in a while. The room was very dark and one of the main light switches malfunctioned at first (“it just needs a little knock”, the bellboy said) and died for good on day three. The safe stopped locking on day 2, and after it got fixed on day 3 after several desperate calls to send someone to fix it, it stopped working completely on day 4. The room smelled of dust and dumpiness and old age. The toilet handle didn’t work, so the toilet didn’t flush. After someone came and fixed it, it stopped working again on the same day. By that time we reached a different level of enlightenment, hence just moved the lead and manually pressed the button inside the toilet tank to flush. It worked mostly fine.
Our room was located right by the staircase, and hotel obviously knows nothing about sound-
