The main thing was the construction and we were right next to it. It started at 8:00 am. They need to put guest at the far end of the construction l, not on top of it. The employees were very nice as the room was very large and comfortable. It did take us a bit to find the electrical outlets and the usb outlets.

Room was dusty and stale feeling. The ice machine is on the 2nd floor which is closed for construction and absolutely unsafe for a disabled person with mobility issues to walk though... Wow, just wow! What a lawsuit waiting to happen!!! The buliding fire alarm went off 3 timed after 10 pm while trying to sleep, what a joke! You also have to park across a busy street and there is no pet area.

Too pricey for type of hotel

Bed/pillows ok. 1st room I was assigned was actually under construction. 2nd room seemed ok, but when I was taking a shower, I looked thru the glass to the jacuzzi tub and saw basically a large wet rag in the bottom of the tub, obviously used…

The hotel is under REMODEL. Our room was in the back. Had trouble getting our luggage to our room because all hallways were full of construction equipment. I booked through Hotels.com and when I checked in I was charged again. Upon check out I asked about the charge and was told it would drop off. The security charge did but the room charge remained. Called the hotel and was told I would be given a refund 3 times but never was. When I asked to speak to the manager and amazingly he was either in a meeting or out. Left 3 messages for him to contact me. Have heard nothing. I would not recommend this hotel. Bad business practice. Spend your money elsewhere.

Hotel with charm ,Clean room and friendly staff , lots of great food within walking distance , some renovations going on and didn’t even notice much , no noise , going to be extra nice when completed , room was freshly updated , had courtyard view that was nice ! Will definitely stay again in the future

The coffee maker didn’t work, the bathtub drain didn’t work. It’s a historical building,sad to see the beautiful oak interior finish carpentry, base boards, chair rail painted green. Good location. Renovations still underway. Green???? What were you thinking? Some designer thought this was a good idea. Fingers crossed that it works out.

The room was clean and nicely decorated. The hot water was not as hot as it should be, could be due to the construction that’s on- going. The hotel lacks any food or drink options currently. I look forward to seeing how the hotel looks after all the remodeling and renovations are complete.

Walking in and greeted by the front desk person, she was very nice and answered all my questions! She said the hotel was undergoing renovations so I didn’t know what to expect! Entered the room and was pleasantly surprised! It was very clean and spacious! The bathroom was so nice, jacuzzi tub was amazing! Bedding and bed were comfortable and inviting! I would call this a hidden treasure along the 101!

I totally recommend a Carlton hotel I like the service everybody is so nice and the rooms are so clean good beds. Everything is perfect for travelers. One day you go back around to Atascadero. I will go the same motel. Thank you.carlton hotel and the personal super nice.

The room was nicely remodeled with all the essentials. The bed was comfortable and everything looked clean. I would definitely stay here again.

The staff is outstanding! They are friendly, accommodating and helpful. We love the Carlton.

Very comfortable bed but room was lacking table lamps for reading and door on water closet. Parking was also difficult on Friday evening

Third time staying at The Carlton. Great "Old" hotel with friendly staff located in a great part of Atascadero.

Great hotel. Going through a renovation. Big rooms with jetted tub and separate shower. Construction started way too early, though and they would not stop the banging when asked twice! This was very frustrating and unacceptable for a weekend visit. If this had not happened they would have received excellent across the board.

Pleasantly surprised. We’re a family with small kids. We definitely stay here again
