Dated, hall way & staircase worn & smelly

This property should not be open until it is ready and bought up to standards shown in the pictures or the pictures changed. A lot of the rooms are locked off due to their condition, so feels empty and unsafe. The room was dirty, and not cleaned properly, dirty socks found, the phone didn’t work, the furniture is falling apart, the beds are dirty and heavily soiled, the doors don’t lock properly, the lift is out of order to all 3 floors, and the staff don’t care, they even try to debit your payment card before you check in despite picking the pay at property option. I checked out immediately.

Room did not have air conditioning and bearing this in mind there was no fan to cool the room, otherwise everything ok

This is the most terrible and disgusting hotel I’ve ever been to and I thank God I never slept there for even for a minute with my family after booking for 3 nights.The lift in there is not working so imagine if your bags are heavy you will have to carry them by yourself by using stairs to your room, bird poo everywhere, spider webs everywhere, mouldy bathrooms, No proper ventilation, Stuffy rooms, no air condition and they cannot provide a basic fan in this hot weather, if you need air you have to open the balcony door so imagine the amount of flies that will come in and I’m sure they will not provide heaters during winter. Due to the condition of the place hotel.com and Buckatree have put this dodgy policy in the booking which is “no refund after paying for the booking”. They’ve posted nice pictures just to deceive people in booking the place and this is a scam, hotel.com is aware of the condition of the place and they a part of this. “Imagine paying for an expensive shoe online and being delivered a slipper”that is what you get when you book Buckatree. I saw people check in and check out right after seeing the rooms so imagine the number of people they’ve deceived in paying up and not getting a refund.I requested for a refund but hotel.com and buckatree refused to give me back my money and they both kept lying and tossing me around. I will not advise anyone to waste a Penny in booking this place and this hotel does not deserve even a 1 star 😡

This hotel has a lot of potential and is in a lovely setting. My suspicion is the owners are new and haven't the money to invest or are the old owners still trying to sell the hotel without pouring more money in. We got what we paid for (which wasn't very much) but a bed and a clean bathroom. Breakfast was additional and we didn't partake. This hotel could be lovely and I hope someone can give it the love it deserves but don't go hear expecting any luxuries.

The photos used on all booking websites are lies... Gone are the pristine manicured lawns, relaxed with a foot high wild meadow. The flower beds now filled with dead plants, weeds, and discarded beer bottles and cans. The lake that looks so tranquil and ornate is overgrown and untended. Balcony furniture covered in bird muck and unusable. The building itself is rundown and in need of some serious maintenance. The lift hasn't worked for months for a start. We were lucky and got a relatively clean room, but others we spoke to told of black mould in the bathroom, broken light fittings, damp beds, peeling wallpaper and broken furniture. There was even a report of bed bugs being seen. Needless to say both we and another couple checked in and out again within hours of arrival. This place is so bad we renamed it the Bucket of Fleas!

Overal ok room. We were only sleeping for one night. Got there late & left early. Area outside needs a gardener. But for my needs it was ok. In middle of nowhere & could do with an update. Could see light through the frame of my room door Ok if you have pets & if like walking in woods its good.

Staff were terribly

Hotel was adequate for what we paid. for their cheapest room. A bit old and tired but bed comfy, sheets and towels clean tea coffee milk snd mugs. Only continental breakfat and no other meals. Seemed very few staff and lift is still not working.

Hotel is very quiet. Lovely location but rooms are dated. Some cosmetic issues such as broken light fitting, toilet roll holder. Biggest issue is there is no restaurant for Dinner.

The TV was not working well and there was noise in the early hours of the morning other residents

The shower was good and the bed was comfortable. No food available at all and miles from anywhere. Door keycards and iron didn't work.

Hotel from the outside looks great and Is in a lovely setting. Inside it’s dated, it smelt bad and the rooms were terrible. Our towels were dirty, the bath was mouldy it was very poor. We had to go to the local supermarket to buy towels and cups as we didn’t want to use theirs. Wouldn’t stay there again if they paid me.

No food avalible, water was just warm. Glad we only stayed one night. Won't use again.

The hotel beeda attention. The room had broken lights and missing wall light. Loose tap on the sink and dirty towel. The grounds although could be lovely, it hadnt been looked after. Grass was overgrown and the lake was near empty with brokwn fence - not as pretty as previous visit. Staff gave no information bar looked closed and the restaurant wasnt in use.

It was a good base and the room was fine. No dinner or hot breakfast as kitchen out of order. A few minor issues with flickering lights in corridor and socket not working in room and building looked tired. gardens were overgrown which was a shame. Not sure it’s been recently taken over or just being neglected. Massive potential and was ok for our overnight stay

Our door wouldn’t open with the card so the staff member had to open it with the machine everytime we needed to get back in. The bar was open but with limited stock. Overall the hotel could be really lovely with a gardener to look after the grounds and some more staff, perhaps keys for the doors instead of the card system would be better and a stocked bar with bee on draught also

Looked great from the photos, this must of been taken over 20 odd years ago, conditions were shocking inside, 2 random Guys on reception in bomber jackets , all very tired, dirty and in desperate need to renovation
