Close to Telford

The mattress was soft and saggy and should have been replaced years ago. There was Mouldy in the shower and hair left on the basin.

Was very disappointed to find that a I had to pay £12 for the car park when it clearly states £10. And on checking with friends who actually paid £1.60 for overnight parking on the Travelodge. Also was ready to use the pool facilities once checked in only to find that it was an extra £10 charge per person for the benefit with only 1 hour left to use it. There is no mention for extra charges anywhere in my booking with Expedia

Good stay. Had everything required but lift wasn't working

Breakfast good. Evening meal good. quiet even though prom night being held. Staff friendly. Kettle lid broken. Sink cold tap tiny drizzle of water. Room very basic. No fridge one teabag on arrival but able to get more.

Lovely hotel, if a touch dated now. Room was spacious, beds were very comfy. Good shower, overall very clean. Very close to Telford Shopping Centre. KFC and Burger King across the road. Good parking, if a little pricey considering where it is. Would stay again!

This is a standard, mid-range hotel on a business park. Telford town centre is a 10-minute walk away. It is a modern retail centre, dominated by the big brands with no independent shops/restaurants/pubs. Fine, if that's your thing. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was generous but standard. This is a one-night stay hotel for a specific purpose, not a tourist hotel

Having stayed at a couple of Mecures this one felt in need of an upgrade to the rooms. Staff were friendly and it was just a base for one night.

Very helpful staff on the front desk, have been visiting the Mercure 2-3 times a year with my gymnast daughter and have always had the same experience, rooms are cleaned well with lovely comfy beds. Pool is great and maintained really well and staff are so helpful.

Our experience of the staff was the best part of our stay. From Steph on reception, who very kindly arranged connecting rooms for my daughter and I, to Anes in the restaurant, who provided us with exemplary dinner service and was so warm and welcoming (turning my drink into a pretend cocktail was such a sweet touch!) The other reception team members (Debra?) were so helpful on checkin as we got there so late, were very tired and just needed food and bed! The other restaurant team were lovely, although I didn't get their nes as they were not front of house, but everything was served with a warm smile and gentle checking if all was ok. The rooms were lovely, very adequate for our needs. The layout of the bathroom was slightly irritating, but that might just be me being picky! The hand towel was kept over the loo and the soap was to the right of the sink high on the wall, so you had to reach past the loo roll with wet hands a couple of times (dripping everywhere). Having rhe hand soap lower and the towel on a rail near the sink would be better but that is such a TINY observation! Breakfast was good and plentiful I really loved the little signs which made such a difference! Our meal in the restaurant was great too, I had the fishcake starter and the steak baguette, both of which were tasty and well prepared. Overall, would definitely choose this again for a stay in Telford, it was very close to the centre.

The bathroom wasn’t the cleanest. The water in the foyer was hardly ever replenished The swimming pool and gym were an extra cost to use

It's not the best example of a four star hotel. I wouldn't give it that rating - maybe a good 3 star. It's not very fancy. The layout is rubbish. I had to walk through the leisure centre to get to my first floor room. I don't know why the stairs were so far away from reception. Odd. The bed gave a comfortable sleep. The room was a bit noisy because it was near a connecting door but apart from that, it was a good size. The shower and the toiletries were fine. You could tell that the hotel was a bit dated but the decor was fine. We were having poor weather for May, so I appreciated the radiator being on. The breakfast was a reasonable standard. It had some local produce which was nice to see - Shropshire tea and Ludlow preserves. I appreciated the healthy options like porridge "toppings" even though there was no actual porridge (at least, if there was I didn't see it and I didn't ask!). The staff were a little bit "casual" but friendly enough. I mean, it was one of those situations where they were busy talking and interacting with each other and not paying me much attention as a customer. I thought paying for parking was a bit of a surprise but in the end the charge worked out OK for the length of my stay.

Great location for the international arena, hotel was well maintained and clean although the room was a bit cold and the hot water in the bath/shower was scalding or freezing and the hand basin didn’t get hot. Staff were very pleasant and the breakfast was great, I would recommend.

A reasonably nice hotel. Book well ahead as it fills up really fast when something is on and the price doubles. Breakfast is over priced and varies in price depending on whether you book it the night before or on the same day. Which is odd.

Everything was as it should be clean room friendly staff close to shops Only issue was breakfast They had a big group of a lacrosse team and staff one part of the brekfast area was reserved for the lacrosse team so seating was a issue We ended up seated in the bar erea due to no seats and was told other area was reserved for the team Cups had run out and was given take away cup instead And milk Was dissatisfaction with breakfast with a few people that could not find seating If there was not going to be enough seating for everyone then i think breakfast should be staggered so all guests can be seated
