The water and bathroom had a very strong sulfur smell. Water did not taste good. Door to outdoor stairs did not lock

This hotel is in an excellent location, within walking distance to all major tourist sites in town. The staff at the front desk were very helpful and friendly when we asked about taxis and early breakfast. The only small negatives I have from my short stay was that there was peeling paint/potentially ceiling mold spot above the shower and there was no real closet/drawer space for clothes. The rooms were very spacious in size so not having the closet or drawers was not an issue for my short stay because there was plenty of space to keep your suitcase on the floor. The rooms and bathroom were clean. They use a physical lock and key as entry to your room, which I'm noting only because it's unusual to people from the USA. I would definitely stay here again!

The help and welcome from the staff were very good. They wanted to make sure we were familiar with where points of interest were, the parking app and how it works, and that a good breakfast was included. We did find the room small, but comfortable.

We arrived at the hotel early in the morning well before check in time and asked if we could store our bags until later. The staff was helpful and the front desk clerk very kindly found us an available room which turned out to be an upgrade so we were able to check in immediately. The room was spacious, very clean and had a stairway that led to a loft where there was a small sofa and a second TV. Breakfast was not included but there is a restaurant on the premises where we enjoyed very good breakfasts. The hotel is well located in Reykjavik, close to shopping and some wonderful bakeshops for early morning treats. We would happily stay here again.

Unser Zimmer war gemütlich, allerdings sollte man wissen, dass das Hotel sehr hellhörig ist. Es gab keine klassischen Verdunkelungsvorhänge, sondern nur weiße Rollos, sodass es nachts recht hell blieb. Das kleine Badezimmer mit Duschkabine war funktional. Da es keine richtigen Fenster zum Lüften gab, war die Luft im Zimmer teilweise etwas abgestanden. Trotz dieser Punkte haben wir den Aufenthalt genossen – besonders wegen der zentralen Lage, der besonderen Atmosphäre und des freundlichen Charakters des Hotels. English: Charming hotel with lots of character in a perfect location in the heart of Reykjavík. The hotel is a little dated, but this adds to its unique charm. Our room was cozy, although guests should know that the hotel is quite noisy due to thin walls. There were no proper blackout curtains, only white roller blinds, so the room remained quite bright at night. The small bathroom with shower was functional. As there were no proper windows for ventilation, the air in the room sometimes felt a little stale. Despite these points, we enjoyed our stay, especially because of the central location, unique atmosphere, and friendly character of the hotel.

Hotellet leverte et greit opphold, men rommet stod ikke i stil med bildene på Hotels.com. Det var mye mindre, og mer slitt enn forventet. Badet var svært trangt. Sengen var god, og personalet var svært hyggelige og imøtekommende. Vi satte pris på at vi fikk rommet før kl. 15 og at vi fikk gode tips til lunsj. Beliggenheten er også et stort pluss.Totalt sett: OK, men ikke slik det fremstår i markedsføringen. Parkering på gateplan, vanskelig å finne plass i nærheten dersom du kommer sent hjem fra tur.

Conveniently located, friendly and helpful staff. French restaurant on the premises that was very good! Has that older European vibe, charming hotel.

Perfect stay in the hotel

The staff at the front desk were so intuitive and so helpful! Felt so welcome! Our room, on the other hand, left much to be desired. Mostly, the bathroom was not clean—my friend and I opted not to take a shower until our next destination, as it made us quite uncomfortable. The walls were also very, very thin, but I suppose that comes with age. The breakfast had a pretty good selection, but the vegan milks were warm. All of those downsides don't matter in the long run because we felt quite safe.

Very cosy hotel that is super central.

This is a cute older building but with that comes older building quirks. Tiny bathrooms. The shower area was probably 2’ square. The hot water smells bad. Not much for noise reduction between the rooms or hallways. Night time noise was an issue for trying to sleep. The restaurant next door is open until 1:00am with outdoor seating, so it was quite loud until after 1:00am. Breakfast was good. Not included in the room rate but it was a nice typical Iceland continental breakfast. It is in a good location for walkable shopping but finding parking within a block or two of the hotel was a challenge. And not free.

Housekeepers tried to open our room 3x before checkout at 11am. Stay was overall good and in a good location but would probably not return to be honest. Pretty run down and very small room.

Room was dated but clean with a very comfortable bed. No blackout curtains just a roller blind, so there was light in the room all night. Bathroom / shower cubicle was very small. Maybe my idea of a 4 star hotel is different. Breakfast was limited but very tasty and all the staff we very friendly.
