A nice lodge and experience!
I took my 9yr old daughter here for two days. We had a lovely time and stay. The game drives were good and we saw everything there was to see except Leopard/cheetah. Some amazing experiences and sightings.
The lodge is clean and tidy and staff generally friendly and helpful. It was luckily fairly quiet At the start of our stay there, so the usual buffet was not catered, meaning that breakfast and supper was generally a la carte instead of the buffet. A la carte was good. The second day was busier and the buffet re-started.
The buffet itself is good, but not exquisite. As buffets go it was nice and a good selection of different types of food and ingredients. Good selection of salads and desserts. The highlight was the made-to-order hotplate: one day was stir-fry and the next fajitas. You choose the ingredients you want in a bowl and the sauce you’d like and the chef cooks it up on a tepanyaki style hot plate. Both times this was delicious!
Game drivers were friendly and attentive and knowledgable! Very determined to try and see lots of things including both the elephants and lions (in different areas).
We also took the horse-back safari. Was 1.5hrs on a horse. We ended up 7m/20ft from a family of 3 rhinos. Is safe as the rhinos see you as horse, not a person. What an amazing highlight being so close to these amazing creatures!
A shame the alcoholic beverage on the afternoon drive is charged to room afterwards and not included!
