Fabulous stay at well preserved authentic castle in Scotland- food was delicious and lovely welcome from staff.

Beautiful castle hotel, inside and out. Only suggestion I have would be to put a fan in each room during the summer, as you can’t open the windows due to the midgies and it gets quite warm when it’s 20° outside. Definitely take a hike around the island. Stunning views!

We loved our stay. Clean and very large room with extra seating area and large bathroom. Very clean and the staff was so friendly and helpful. We walked the grounds and saw some seals swimming. We ordered an afternoon tea and had a little car trouble so we called to let them know we’d miss it and they packed up all the food for us to take with us the next day. So thoughtful. The bar and restaurant were great. The grounds and views are beautiful. It’s a little bit of a drive from anything else we’d planned to see in Scotland but worth it to slow down and enjoy the scenic grounds and castle. I highly recommend it. Stay at 2 nights to get the full benefit. One night isn’t enough to get the full castle away from it all feeling.

Beautiful location & hotel was nice. The staff was friendly & useful. The only negatives we found were 1. The floors were very noisy/squeaky 2. We stayed there on a Summer day/evening, there was no fans or air conditioning so the room was very warm

Very friendly staff and beautiful location!

Loved the friendly staff and the hotel setting is stunning. . The breakfast was nice and tasty. The hotel room was comfortable with a fabulous view of loch fine from the window. We were in the area for a wedding and it proved difficult trying to secure transport back to the hotel from Tarbert the nearest town due to there being only one taxi car. As the hotel is 4 star, a shuttle bus for guests maybe an idea moving forward.

This is an older property with lots of character set in beautiful grounds. Friendly staff and brilliant food. Peaceful and tranquil break.

We enjoyed our one night stay. Lovely surroundings, very charming place and friendly staff. The room was old and like the hotel in general was crying for a complete renovation. Dusty worn room with lots of insects (moths and midges).

Absolutely lovely place to stay, being over 100 years old the property does show its age but that all part its charm. The location and views made the stay even better. The staff was excellent as was the food. Highly recommended and we look forward to returning.

Late May, fine weather and a very busy hotel. The staff were very welcoming and went out of their way to help everyone. The setting, trees, shrubs and walks were spectacular and the food and drink first class. A long way from our West Sussex home but worth it.

Had another great stay at Stonefeld, before we hopped onto the ferry for Islay. The staff is always attentive and friendly, plus the cocktails and dinner are good as well.

Häftigt gammalt slott som ligger väldigt fint. Rum känns klassiskt lyxiga och det var rent och snyggt. Rekommenderar att ta något att dricka i baren, väldigt trevligt stämningsfullt. Mat var bra men kanske något dyr.

We were late in checking in and the receptionist called us to book us a table for dinner, a nice touch. The food was incredible and the staff in the dining room were very attentive and friendly. The room (37) was huge and the finish of the furniture and materials was very good. We’ll be back.

Best place we stayed in the UK. My husband and I stayed at over half a dozen hotels on our trip to the UK this one was by far the most enchanting stay. Our room was something out of a storybook floor to celling drapes enclosed picturesque windows of stunning Scotlan veiws. The Loch
