Not very fancy but reasonably priced hotel. Good for a family trip with the great ocean view.

It was a good stay, mostly. Staff was amazing. Lovation was amazing. Room was clean. Just missing a few conveniences in the room such as a towel holder in the bathroom sink area, lights at the bathroom sink didn't all work, and the dead bolt on the front door didn't work. Again, minor issues but still inconveniences. The outside could use some attention, but that wasn't make or break for us, especially with the price.

I loved the hospitality of Tonya? She was the night person at the front desk. She was very warm and inviting. Even though the weather wasn't the best, I had a very good time. This is a great spot to visit ☺️.

The doors are broken and can not close. I left after a few hours.

Elevator was down and was on 5th floor walking the steps sucked but it was worth it will stay there again

Is this place a 5 star hotel? No. Is it the nicest place I've ever stayed? No. Let me tell you what it is... delightful! My family came to the gulf for the first time and we stayed at sugar sands. The facilities were clean and well kept. We constantly saw staff members strolling the grounds picking up litter, tending flowers and maintaining the property. Every staff member we came into contact with always had a smile, greeted us and asked if there was anything we needed. One staff member saw me bringing baths of groceries up to the room and immediately came over to help. When a manager on duty saw us lounging by the pool, she came and asked if any of the kids had food allergies. She then proceeded to bake cookies and bring them out as a treat. Do yourself a favor and stay at this hidden gem, we're glad we did and have already made our reservations for next year!

I absolutely loved the room and the view, I was in room 212, the palm trees are in the way a little bits it was ok. Room was so clean!!! The only problems I seen was parking kinda sucks, the wooden steps that lead to the beach are RAGGADY! Please be careful walking up and down those stairs.

The hotel is on the beach, so it has a beautiful view. It's in a good location and the staff was kind. There was a kitchen, which was convenient. Our issue with cleanliness was due to a bug issue in our room. I reported it and they refunded the resort fee when we checked out. Not even sure why there was a resort fee.

We chose this hotel for economic reasons ! We did not want a five-star hotel, but we wanted a five star beach experience !!! And that is exactly what we got !!!! The beach is absolutely incredibly beautiful!!! The hotel staff is very friendly. The hotel is very clean and the beds and the pillows are clean and comfortable for sleep after a fun filled beach day !! A rental car is necessary as there is no place to eat for about 4 miles . We absolutely loved our stay here and plan to return !!!!!

Overall the experience was pretty awful. I was not able to check into my room until almost an hour and a half past check in due to the room needing to be cleaned by housing. This made my guest and I miss our reservations we had set for dinner. As we were filling out paperwork to finally check in after an hour and a half past 4 PM (when we got there 10 minutes prior to our check in time at 4 PM), the cleaning staff came in to take their break, and they were laughing and singing and playing around, which would have been fine if we would not have been waiting for them to get their job done in order for us to get into the room we paid for. The staff person working on 4/4 around 5:30 PM apologized for the inconvenience which I appreciated, and she explained that hopefully some compensation could be found for us. I asked if we could check out an hour and a half late since we were not able to check in on time, but I was denied this request on several different occasions or told to ask the next worker who was working the day of. When we finally got into the room, it was not super clean. There was trash such as a hotel shampoo bottle, a cap, plastic debris, and dirt in the corner of the front room and a used styrofoam cup out on the balcony. So I do not understand why if we checked in so late that it was not cleaner. I then saw after my stay that I was charged $40.40 and have not been told why I was charged with this after calling about it. I do not recommend this place to stay at all

Pro's - located on the beach and the room was clean. Con's - the outside of the building requires major renovations
