Very pleasant staff with excellent English speaking skills. Rooms were average. Would like water bottles in the rooms. Area is ok but noisy.

Perfect location in the city center. Friendly staff. Breakfast had good options. Hiccups with housekeeping providing stained towels and not really cleaning the room.

Air conditioning had not been working for days before my 24 hour cancellation window expired and didn’t say that the a/c wasn’t working, and wouldn’t be working the entire time we would be there. Discovered this when we got into our room and there was a letter in the bed stating it was not working, offered as much ice and water dispenser water that we wanted. I could have gone elsewhere if they had told me the situation. Had to sleep with the windows wide open and the noise outside and street lights of course led to not sleeping the entire stay! Don’t even offer a free breakfast or free parking to say sorry about the situation!

The gentleman checking us in was not very friendly. The other gentleman was awesome & helpful! Hotel needs updating - no carpet in room. Balcony area was crumbling which took from what would’ve been a very nice view. 3rd bed was a pullout couch.

We spent 4 nights in the hotel. Our family got 2rooms We scheduled room cleaning every other day but only 1 room was cleaned once. When we returned we need to ask for extra towels because no one cleaned both rooms.

Expérience globalement très décevante. Dès l’arrivée, l’accueil était froid et peu engageant, sans aucun sens du service. L’établissement semble se réfugier derrière des arguments écologiques pour justifier des manquements basiques. Aucune bouteille d’eau n’est fournie, uniquement des carafes à remplir à l’entrée, sans bouchon ni moyen de transport, ce qui est peu pratique et franchement limite pour un hôtel. La climatisation était en panne, et malgré cela, aucune attention particulière n’a été portée au confort des clients. Même pas une bouteille d’eau dans la chambre, ce qui aurait pourtant semblé être un minimum en période de forte chaleur. La propreté des chambres était correcte, mais le ménage était clairement insuffisant. Seul le lit a été refait, rien d’autre n’a été nettoyé ou remis en ordre. L’hôtel n’a strictement aucun charme. La décoration est impersonnelle, la salle du petit déjeuner est triste et étouffante. On n’a qu’une envie : sortir prendre l’air. Le seul point positif reste sa localisation en centre-ville. Pour le reste, une expérience sans intérêt, sans confort, et sans attention. Nous ne reviendrons pas.

Room was smaller than expected, very tight to unload two suitcases, but I guess it is Europe. Beautiful view of court yard outside. Walkable to the old city, churches, and many restaurants

Very easy and central to shopping, dining and the fort!

the room was perfect. the bathtub was ever so nice! The doors to the street were lovely and the entire suite was charming. a bit of cream for the body should be included. Travelers from the US visiting more than one spot in Europe expect that for about 300 euros tioiletrieswould be included.

Centrally located with parking literally across the street. Friendly and helpful staff.

So loud. The street noise and no air in the room we had to open our window and couldn’t sleep cause of noise

Best Western Royal Hotel was a superb place for our stay in Caen. The facility itself was well designed, very clean and the beds are comfortable. The breakfast was well prepared and prompt. There are several restaurants with walking distance. The staff were fluent in English which was especially helpful for us. We would definitely stay there again.
