Pleased on arrival for single room booking to be upgraded to a double room with an exceptional view. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Hotel decor and room facilities need upgrading,

Great bar area Most of the staff were great Lift didn't work

Property is a little tired .Faded Victorian grandure but is only classed as 3 star which would be accurate .Set in 20 acres of its own grounds so is very quiet, with woodland walks and a lovely view across Morcambe bay .Word of warning it is a steep walk up from the main road to hotel and is the only pedestrian way .plenty of car parking at the top though .Overall for the price i would use again .

The Cumbria Grand is in a beautiful setting our room was clean and warm, the decor is undoubtably out dated being from the 1980’s and could do with a makeover the French windows were a little draughty, the en-suite was clean and everything worked there was a tv and kettle in the room with coffee and tea ( topups were available in the foyer) it is a “dog friendly hotel” however our furry friends are only allowed in small rooms off the main dining area which kind of spoils the ambiance of the hotel it also makes it difficult if your pet is scared of larger animals as there is little space within the allocated dining area. The breakfast was nicely cooked with a good choice of cereals and pastries

The hotel was easy to find and had great views of the surrounding area

It was like being back in early 1900’s

This was our first time staying, we loved the cleanliness of the rooms, breakfast was excellent and our stay was worth the money.

Set on a lovely part of the Lake District

All staff excellent, without being overly fussy - perfect from my point of view. Breakfast superb, both quality and range at the buffet Bar meals equally superb and reasonably priced

The Hotel was excellent for the Price in fact I presumed the cost didn’t include breakfast but it did, the Room was great and the property well maintained, excellent for the cost

Althought the property location is good, the condition of the hotel is terrible, carpets are filthy, 1900 type hotel with no wifi for the night as all IPs are assigned already. Parking was full somehow managed to get a space. Breakfast was good.

A good Victorian hotel warm and welcoming, but in need of a upgrade.But overall I enjoyed my stay.

Clean and comfortable room, upgraded to a double room with a bay view also which was fantastic! Food really nice and a decent breakfast!

Great staff and lovely setting.

Very tired, unbearably hot and we had trouble turning radiator off. Breakfast was very basic, food and service in the bar on the previous evening good. The person on reception was helpful in as much as giving us keys to try other rooms, but lacked a little in communication skills

What a lovely hotel. Receptionist was very friendly and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Room was cosy and hotel very nice. Breakfast was good quality. Will book again
