Lovely breakfast, indoor pool and sauna are great for colder months and rainy days. Rooms and hotel furnishings are very tasteful and pleasant. Dinner options are very good. Good base for walks and perfect for golf. Staff is sometimes hard to find, renovations were ongoing and it would have been nice to know about that upfront. Overall

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt! Sehr gutes Hotel, sehr gutes Personal, großartiges Frühstück! Das Bett war für mich persönlich zu weich, aber das ist Geschmachssache... Wir waren nur zwei Nächte da, wir wären gern länger geblieben, wenn wir nicht schon unseren Flug nach Hause hätten. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Hotel is aging and not the best upkeep. The real issue is the staff that are rude. Whilst we were there, there was renovation and drilling in front of our door from 9:30 and they created water damage in one of the common rooms downstairs so we were unable to use it. After the first day. For this they made a gesture. However, overall experience was definitely not up to standard.

Das Zimmer war sehr sauber. Lage des Hotels ruhig und schön. Der Pool hat angenehme Temperatur, die Sauna ist winzig klein. Das Frühstück ist ok. aber nicht abwechslungsreich. Aufschnitt, Käse und Müsli sind recht einfach. Das Personal sehr freundlich. Einige Startpunkte für Wanderungen sind gut zu erreichen.

Quiet,relaxing, and delicious breakfast. Rental car best way to explore Maderia. Note: existing hotel lot is a one way left turn only. Hotel needs to clear shrubs to see on-coming cars easer.

Verkligen helt fantastiska sängar! Superbra frukost. Trevligt med pool och biljard. Det låg uppe bland bergen och inte mycket restauranger i närheten så man måste ha bil om man ska bo där. Restaurangen nekade oss på kvällen för de bara hade en kock, så man behöver boka i god tid innan.

Hôtel de charme en altitude dans un lieu d’exception. Notre chambre était spacieuse, confortable et très agréable. Je recommande de prendre le thé sur place avec les scones et gâteaux faits maison. Nourriture excellente et service impeccable. Tout était parfait.

Sauberes gut ausgestattetes Hotel. Frühstück und Abendessen waren klasse. Parkplätze direkt vor Hotel. Angestellten waren freundlich. Einziges Manko wären die etwas hellhörigen Zimmertüren.

Hotel au calme, bien entretenu et propre. Un peu en dessous en terme de service : pas de restauration le soir sans réservation préalable, petit déjeuner un peu tardif à partir de 8h.

Schönes Hotel am Land, aber: Zu wenig Sitzplätze im Restaurant (als Hotelgäste konnten wir am Nachmittag für das Abendessen keinen Tisch mehr für 2 Personen reservieren), das Hallenbad hat eine schlechte bzw. gar keine Lüftung (von der Decke tropft es dauernd herunter) und zu wenige Liegen, wir hatten ein Zimmer im "Turm", das ohne Lift nur über eine halsbrecherische Stiege erreichbar war und das Hinauf- und Hinuntertragen der Koffer war eine schweißtreibende Angelegenheit (es gab auch kein Gepäckservice). Ansonsten Zimmer, Frühstück und 1 x Essen im Hotel bezüglich Preis-/Leistung in Ordnung.

Staff were nice and tried to please but service was slow. Difficult to get staff attention in the restaurant. The hotel was nice but the area was quite desolate. Very limited options for eating (1 village diner, and a couple of bars) The golf nearby was excellent and the pick up service was helpful. We didn’t have a hire car and getting around was hard. We really relied on the pick ups for the guided Levada walks
