Friendly staff, beautiful and clean room, great breakfast

Nice location, the room was comfortable and breakfast was good. Staff helpful and friendly BUT it’s clear that there aren’t enough of them as we had to wait for everything. Check in was slow as the receptionist was dealing with another issue and it seems she had no back up. It was the same at breakfast, there appeared to be only two young staff working the restaurant, there were 7 tables occupied when we placed our order and only one table had food. When we checked out there was another long wait. I certainly don’t blame the staff, I felt very sorry for them. This is a management issue that needs addressing.

Booked this Hotel for the night whilst attending the Gatehouse Theatre for an event. Theatre was a 5 min max walk away, so very convenient. First time at this Hotel, having used Pub accommodation last time, and this was a step up. Nice large car park at rear, easy access to Hotel reception which was manned. Had pre checked in, so easy check in. Quick wander round Stafford, then back to Hotel for tea, then drinks before pre booked meal, which was delicious, filling and served on time. Room was fine for the night, nothing special but clean, and adequate. We both slept well, and ate a hearty breakfast. Full English was delicious znd again filling. Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the trip, food excellent. Would recommend.

What we liked was everything including how busy yet how helpful the entire staff were. Great car park, lovely setting. What we did not like was the slightly dated room, the air conditioner did not work. We know we are in a fantastic position but the noise which we know the hotel cannot do anything but the noise from drunk girls screaming outside at the front of the hotel where we were was really annoying.

Well located in central area close to historical places of interest. The hotel has an interesting history.

Very good

Easy to find with good sized car park that’s barrier controlled for extra security. Evening food was DELICIOUS! Comfortable beds and a nice brekkie. Nice travelling stop.

Stopped in 303 avoid the room if it's warm no air con. Asked them to look at it didn't work. They said we will then sort you a fan. Didn't get a fan windows open noise was horrendous all night and even into early hours first night. Second night even worse I had to call the police to get the people in the street playing music until 1am. Paid for a premium room. Then in morning went to charge me again even though I had already paid. Then didn't bother to ask me about my stay. Also never bothered with breakfast as when I went to get my meal then first day forgot my order on the drinks then waited 40 mins for a starter which was beef in a jar with toast. Scotch egg was ok mind when it came.

The staff were so helpful and so pleasant the food was really nice and the hotel was very clean and tidey

Nice large rooms

Great hotel in the very centre of the town with free parking. Staff were very welcoming. Beware of the wine costs. Make sure you ask for a token for the car park when leaving. Car park is not easy to find. Asked a traffic warden who said it was about 100 yards away but we had to go all the way around the one way system Paid £82 but given a receipt for £67

Lovely two day stay at the Swan. Food really good standard. Staff very friendly. Jason ensured all was ok. We brought our dog and he was very welcome. Would recommend

Gorgeous hotel very oldie world or on the outside but very modern interior side. Made to feel very welcome, staff all lovely and very helpful

Fabulous stay at the Swan Hotel. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff are happy to explain things to make sure your stay is a plesant one. A shout out to the young girl who was our breakfast waitress (I think she was called Amberle). She worked tirelessly hard, was very pleasant and even though she was busy she made time to have a chat and give tips about the area! She was always smiling and made sure you were happy! You are all a credit to the Swan Hotel! We ate at the Hotel all 3 nights as the food was excellent ! We will be back in the future!

Like The Swan, (am repeat visitor for accommodation). On this two night stay, (Apr16-17 2025) I struggled at night with loud snoring from the next room. It revealed hitherto unknown thinned of separating walls, combined with avoidable positioning of beds with the heads of the beds in each room evidently close and against the shared wall. Also I had no complimentary water which I seem to remember I have had in the past. Thank you, David Goble (Room 115)

Lovely stay.Room large and spotless. Good ambience in the hotel.Staff very efficient and helpful. Breakfast excellent, we also booked for evening meal whjch was very good.

Watch out for hidden charges. My wife and myself do not even smoke but after leaving £120.00 was taken from my credit card because staff alleged that they could smell signs of smoking in our room. Which had nothing to do with us. We immediately contacted the hotel who admitted that the only evidence was the alleged smell and they did not know if any members of staff smoked. Have requested the return of the charge and they are refusing to refund. Avoid this hotel

Staff were very accomodating. Lovely atmosphere.
