A lively Lakeland hotel with great prospects and a good feel . Fabulous Langdale views, clean bedrooms and helpful staff. The food was perfect and I would recommend the chicken and mushroom pie, really good. The new owners have more to do in making improvements to decor and this is underway but we loved it and will return.

Excellent for walks! Straight out the car park is a steep stepped-path alongside the beck to the tarn a mile above. Hard work but stunning views

Our room was excellent very quiet with lovely comfortable bed, nice bed linen, towels and plenty of tea&coffee etc. Breakfast was delicious. We ate evening meals at the hotel which were homemade and great quality and reasonable price. New owners have taken over hotel just over 2 mths ago and we found them to be very friendly, welcoming and hard working. They're improving the hotel with new decor and have great attention to detail so I'm sure once finished it will be amazing. It's location is great with some fantastic walks and bus on your doorstep. We hope to return next time we are in the Lakes and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel.

Lovely location; great room

Very helpful and friendly staff. Room clean and bed comfy. A bit of a wait for dinner but it was well worth the wait; delicious. You couldn't find a more fabulous landscape as the setting either.

Lovely staff, beautiful surroundies good place to access hikes or lovly small towns. Roads are narrow getting there but it is a gorgeous location. Excellent breakfast and pub food. We really enjoyed our stay.

Parking was a bit of an issue at first, but resolved easily. Bed very comfortable. Room good size.

The room was spotless staff very knowledgeable and very helpful, the evening menu was very nice,lovely warm welcome.

Diane on reception and at breakfast was outstanding. Staff were courteous. I had purchased a voucher in advance for food and drink, however, the hotel did not have the equipment to read the code and the details had to be input manually. All worked out well in the end and the three night stay was great value. Room could have done with some coat hooks especially as the large wardrobe only had four coat hangers. A hook in the bathroom would have been useful and there was only one bedside lamp, otherwise the room was ideal with plenty of space, a lovely bed and a large tv. Good hotel and would recommend to others.

Staff here are brilliant! Diane is an absolute star. Such a great host, Always cheery and helpful . She made our stay even better . The location is absolutely perfect for that get away from the city feeling . Definitely coming back here again! Ps food was ace

The property it self was lovely. The staff was brilliant couldn’t fault them. The only problem we had with the room was the radiator which made a terrible noise. No matter what we did we couldn’t stop it kept us awake half the night. Apart from that it was a lovely stay.

Check in was fine, rooms nice and cozy, fresh linen and towels. Toiletries provided very nice. Staff were very helpful and willing to accommodate our requests. Food to a high standard and plentiful. Breakfast cooked to order. A very pleasant stay. Thank you.

Staff very pleasant and accomodating. Room and bathroom very clean but bathroom could do with a bit of updating. Our evening meal and breakfast was very nice.

Beautiful setting but in need of a little TLC. Staff were very friendly and helpful but too few in numbers - food service was slow although very good quality. No staff on reception, you have to find someone from behind the bar and our room was not made up despite handing in the form at reception to request this. Musty/damp smell on top floor. Also limited choice at breakfast - no fruit!

Staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. Comfortable rooms with great breakfasts. We were lucky with the weather so were able to appreciate the well maintained gardens.
