오래된 건물이라 전반적으로 낡았어요. 침구류가 약간 찝찝했고 침대 스프링이 안 좋았어요. 침구는 안 갈아주지만 매일매일 수건 갈아주시고 청소해 줍니다. 밑에 펍이 있어서 다같이 즐겁게 놀고 가실 분들은 좋을 것 같아요. 그런데 조용히 쉬다 가실 분들에겐 비추입니다. 중심가가 도보로 갈 수 있는 거리라 이점이 있고, 아침은 정말 맛있었어요.

호텔 위치 및 서비스는 좋으나, 오래된 건물이라서 방이 작고 시설이 낙후되었음.

The reception staff were friendly and welcoming. Room clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the light breakfast. Definitely will stay again.

Bed had a hole, I didn't understand the English of the receptionist and I missed the breakfast (that was over at 8:30 am!), bad noise isolation so I could hear noise from phones upstairs. Not recommended.

No matters caver just sheet over nothing else toilet stained bath needs reviewing dust on light shades

Didn't go for food or drink. Hotel is good location. Room and facilities low standard, though clean (mostly), not very comfortable and some issues. Bed head presses against light switch and bed wobbles, thus the light kept going on/off. Kettle broken and room was super cold at night. To be fair it was -6 or so outside. Staff were nice and friendly and for the price and location it was fairly good. Star lost for lack of capacity to make tea without leaving the room!

Room was ok tv channels wouldn’t load so couldn’t watch anything also was abit miffed as there was a mess up of dates as I tried to book for the date I wanted to come but it had already gone through

Lovely staff, a few problems with the room but the staff swiftly sorted that out. Also had a miscommunication about timing of breakfast which meant I then missed it, however the staff kindly got me some fruit and yoghurt.

Rooms have zero sound protection, you can hear every work from every room. No one at reception. Smoking staff in door way. No breakfast as it stops 2 hours earlier than advertised on your website. Room key didn’t work and spent 30 minutes waiting to go to bed on night 2 as no one in reception and no one answering phone, staff having fun in bar. Just a horrible stay from start to finish.

Staff were friendly and downstairs space looked fab! I’d say the room itself needed updating. The bathroom floors were sticky with maybe something spilt from the stay before? The shower gel on the wall was empty but was a tiny bit to use luckily. Bed was comfortable and overall a good stay.

The rooms aren’t terrible but definitely need some decoration and renovation. Close to amenities such as restaurants and shops.

The room needs to be decorated, with holes in the wall, and the world's smallest towel given, which was dirty. Due to being 10 minutes late for food, I was informed I could not have my breakfast. I understand there is a time limit, but 10 min ?? As I have paid for this service.

Comfy bed and clean. Soundproofing could be improved but for be the price and location it's not bad. Didn't try the brekkie so can't comment but it was continental only.

Room wasn’t great, with a hole in the cealing and bathroom having mold in it. Very noisy on the walk ways back to room, meaning lack of sleep - don’t think I will stay again

I had a very good experience during my stay at Hotel 1843. The check-in process was smooth, and the receptionist was extremely kind and helpful. This is a budget hotel, so some areas like the corridors, paintwork, and carpets are a bit outdated—but for the price we paid, it was excellent value. Our room was very spacious, with good water pressure in the shower. It was quiet, very warm (make sure you open the radiator!), and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was included in the price, which was a nice bonus. The breakfast was simple but practical: cereal, bread with butter and jam, boiled eggs, juice, water, coffee, and tea—just what you need to start the day. If anyone wants a more elaborate breakfast, there are plenty of places nearby in Reading. Check-out was smooth as well. Overall, I really enjoyed my one-night stay and would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a budget-friendly option in Reading

One of our bathrooms had not been cleaned. Sheet was put straight on a mattress, no mattress topper

Great staff, fabulous food, love comfy bed

Pros - clean sheets and towels, central, good shower pressure, they let us leave our bag there, breakfast included. Cons - desperately needs updating, room smelt of smoke, very limited breakfast, so noisy. I could hear neighbour's television word for word. Earplugs in from 4pm. Place just left me feeling "itchy".
