It was very very good. Excellent services, clean and comfortable room and delicious breakfast.. City Centre Mall was located just 5 min walking distance. But tourist spots (Victoria memorial, B.B.D. Bagh) was far from hotel. Money exchange (dollar to rupee) was available at hotel front desk. Free Wifi was provided 3 days (72 hours) for our 4 Nights 5 days trip.

It might have been a 4 star hotel in the 90s. But in 2025 it needs major uplift. Having no AC in the corridors was a disappointment as one feels very hot. Then, the carpet in the corridor psychologically makes one feel hot. Lifts are quite small and one was under maintenance. I had to get the shower stopper repaired as it kept falling off. The towels were really old. The bed cover had strange black dirt on it. House keeping were very prompt in changing the bed linen. On the positive side, the staff were very receptive and took care of all issues reported.

Their professionalism, courtesy, and attention to detail set the tone for a truly delightful stay. Throughout my time at The Sonnet, I was continually impressed by the impeccable hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to make sure every aspect of my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Whether it was room service, housekeeping, or the restaurant team, everyone was friendly, efficient, and always eager to help with a smile. The rooms were well-maintained, spacious, and equipped with all modern amenities, providing a perfect blend of comfort and luxury. The food at the in-house restaurant was delicious, offering a variety of choices that catered to different tastes. The quality of service, both in the restaurant and in-room dining, was exemplary. A special mention to the reception team, whose warmth and professionalism truly stood out. They were always available to assist with any queries, from travel arrangements to local recommendations, ensuring that I had a seamless experience. Overall, my stay at The Sonnet was exceptional, thanks to the wonderful staff, top-notch hospitality, and excellent service. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kolkata.

Good hotel, good service, very happy with the service.

The whole floor smelled of fresh paint. Nauseating. If there is paint job going on, the property should have informed us earlier and even after mentioning this to the staff, and their assurance that they will do something about it, they did nothing. The bar staff was incompetent. They don't know their drinks. The door men were very respectful, courteous and helpful. I stayed here 2 years back and I can say the quality detoriated pretty bad. It looks more shabby and smells. Not worth approx $90 per night.

It was quite a nice hotel for not being a 5 star. Clean, tastefully decorated, big rooms, good size bathrooms. Service was good too.

The breakfast and dinner buffets were excellent. The staff was courteous and helpful. There was black mold in the bathroom. Otherweose all was fine.

Good location

Hotel staff show a good service mentality - I wanted a slightly early check in and a late check out and they were accommodating. The only restaurant had a good buffet breakfast as well as options available right through the day. But one significant issue is the wifi quality - connectivity was very poor in my first 2 days (Almost non existent) and even after the technical team did some trouble shooting to improve things, the wifi kept dropping and there was a constant need to reconnect devices.

We stayed in Sonnet for multiple during our trip to India. Starting from management to all staff members be in the restaurant to doormen, everyone was extremely friendly and courteous. The rooms were clean and spacious and cleaning staff were always available in a moment’s notice. I was very impressed with the quick response and speed of execution.

A very ideally located property in the heart of Kolkata. it couldnt get better. They need to work on their gym facilities like availability of gym/yoga mats etc
