The room was spacious and clean. Night time is quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was adequate. I prefer more fruits and vegetables. Besides a visit to the Château d’Azay-le-Rideau, you can take day trips to other castles. We rented e-bikes in Amboise and rode to Château de Blois and back. Drive t, about 1 hour each way.

I’m not usually compelled to leave reviews for goods and services I use but this place was so cool. It’s in the center of this amazing little midlevel town and a renovated 18th century manor but with all the comforts of a new hotel. They did a great job preserving the history while modernizing. Room and furniture was emasculate and the air conditioning was superb. The staff were very attentive, professional, and helpful. Breakfast and dining area were great! Highly recommend this place. A+

We stayed at Le Grand Monarque, Azay-le-Rideau for 3 nights. Everything was great: central location, large room, very quiet and they have a parking location near by. All staff at the reception was wonderful but I would like to give our special thanks to Isabelle. She was above and beyond making recommendations, booking restaurants, suggesting stores and point if interests. Thank you, Isabelle for your fantastic job!
