Fantastic location, beautiful view. Lake hike very close and, once again, phenomenally beautiful, especially reflections of mountains.

Big room

Room, bathroom and sheets were clean. No kitchen. Patch of black mold on ceiling was concerning - did not spot this until we went to bed. And window latch in bathroom broken - ground floor room so easy for anyone to break in. Arrived at hotel to overgrown grass at front of property. Restaurant and bar not operating but had cable passed out window to a table where a microwave and toaster were available - ridiculous!! No one at reception when we left to share our concerns with. Expensive and disappointing.

Could be such a beautiful place but a bit run down. Great views of glacier. Needs TLC, small things like TV not working and by looking at previous reviews seems to have been not working for 2 months, no coffee in room, gardens and exterior looks unkept, broken chair in room. Still however, ok for a 1 night stopover with nothing else available.

This place gives a terrible impression from the road - grass and weeds 30-40cm high. Almost enough to make us go elsewhere. However, the young lady on reception was very welcoming and helpful - taking our bags in for us. The room was quite a surprise - very spacious, very clean and couldn’t fault it. The TV didn’t work and reading other reviews this seems to be a long running situation. The owners need to invest a bit of time and effort into the presentation of this place and it would be a wonderful place to stay.

Rooms were immaculate staff were very pleasant. Parking outside of rooms is convenient. Quiet and peaceful.

One teaspoon, 2 small cup that's it. No bed side tables to put phone & drinks on ( put my drink on the ground and then ended up kicking it when I got up during the night). No small table to eat even a small meal from, had to sit in bed and have eat breakfast.

For the price, this place was good for an overnight stop. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable - we got a great night's sleep. A bit basic amenity-wise. The glacier viewpoint further along the road is very good. Book a table for dinner at one of the village eateries if you want to dine early.

Clean room but the whole place needs updating, and sooner rather than later. Small tweaks would improve it : better in room kitchen, there was an unsafe tap; tidy up the grounds, we had a view of an abandoned motel; get a new sign up. And finally, consider opening up the on site restaurant. There is a fantastic view of Mount Cook from here, the motel should make more of it. I wouldn't recommend staying here in it's present state.

Room smelled mouldy, no air con, no beside tables, very basic kitchenette, fridge froze food and no way to adjust it, staff on arrival told us nothing about the hotel or info about Fox Glacier.

The room was clean and the staff courteous and helpful, but the room and hotel were quite basic. No aircon was a big negative. Also no microwave or bowls/utensils, but the staff did provide use of.

Il posto credo sia uno dei peggiori che ho mai visitato: in totale stato di abbandono, acqua marrone che usciva dai rubinetti, copriletto macchiato, materassi sfondati, frigorifero rumorosissimo, nessun comodino, lampadine bruciate, TV e lavanderia non funzionanti, assenza totale di personale responsabile anche a detta dei dipendenti. Da evitare ad ogni costo e non comprendo come Expedia permetta l’affiliazione a strutture del genere

Toilet seat wasn't attached.TV wouldn't go Said it was a hotel but no restaurant and no toaster or plates in room. No milk. No spare roll of toilet paper and we ran out. Curtains had broken hooks and weren't attached properly. Grounds very untidy with long grass and weeds. We definately won't be staying again.

Friendly staff & good sized tidy room. Needs so yard work done & an exterior clean as looks pretty rundown from the outside.

Felt derelict, arrived to the car park with lots of weeds. Checked in and quite simply given a room key (no introduction). Walls not soundproof at all, could hear banging doors lots! No privacy in the room - curtains had to be closed as no netting to pull across. Mould in the bathroom and dirty crockery in the room (only 1 glass). Only soup spoons - no normal spoons! Would avoid at all costs and won’t be returning!

Room is clean and spacious, including working kitchen with everything needed to prepare meals, and a big bathroom. Friendly staff. Worth mentioning that the motel is located between the highway and a train line, which can be noisy at times.

The television did not work, room dated and bed was lumpy

Room had no toaster, broken fridge, broken lights, not enough eating utensils no milk, hopeless

No trained staff, Mini bar fridge, can't be more mini, and grew mould inside. Bedside lamp has broken switch, not functioning. Paid $4 laundry machine doesn't work at all. For more than $300 a night, that is a rip-off deal. Total Micky mouse business down here.
