The Hotel showed me the bill which was £200.46 Which I considered reasonable. However, I payed Expedia £282.99. I consider a booking fee of £82.53 excessive to put it mildly. Hugh Thompson, Itinerary no :- 72900690219476

Un lieu de charme en bord de mer. Jolie chambre. Excellent petit déjeuner fait maison. Des salons pour rêver et papoter. Un accueil agréable. Des balades sympathiques à faire. Bref parfait.

Excellent all round Hotel. Does need a lift.

Room was small and a bit dated but a large balcony and we were lucky with the sunshine so we did sit out for a while each day. It would be beautiful in the summer ! That said the hotel is lovely, comfortable with lots of lively places to sit and read. The food is excellent - fantastic meal three courses for 33 pounds and well worth it. We would stay again and Aldeburgh is just lovely !!

Everything about the hotel was excellent but especially the staff. Wish I could give them 6 or more stars. However, this is not a hotel for a fun holiday; it is quiet, peaceful, with many comfortable spaces to read, take tea or coffee and relax.

This was our third stay at this exceptional family-owned hotel. And we'll be back again. Everything is just so, with pleasant staff, comfy bedrooms, wonderful served breakfast (including such delights as kippers and finnan haddock), relaxing lounges, and a wonderful setting across the road from a walk along the beach to neighbouring Thorpeness (and Sizewell Power Station). Daily changing menu in the restaurant gives plenty of choice, including veggie options, with everything freshly prepared and beautifully served. The town is unchanging and old-fashioned, including a cinema. The area is beautiful without trying too hard. It's a long way from Leeds, but it's worth the journey.

The only thing I could fault were the veggie sausages which were a frozen abomination - get some decent fresh ones and I would have said our stay was faultless. The staff in particular were lovely and the power shower was fantastic !

Apart from the hotel not having a lift for residents, it was splendid in all other respects and seemed to be a happy place. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

Our room was comfortable and spacious. The staff were very helpful. Fine location for walking into town or enjoying the North Sea frontage location. Cozy bar. Numerous comfortable lounges for relaxation. Excellent breakfasts and good dinners. Classic ambience.

Lovely room…big windows out to the sea on the top floor. Clean, spacious, freshly decorated with a small but perfectly formed en-suite. Comfy large bed with crisp linens. Breakfast was gorgeous…everything was freshly prepared and of high quality….fresh fruit salad was yummy! Freshly made pancakes with maple syrup and crispy bacon was fabulous.

An unexpected gem and one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in! Amazing detail in the decor and excellent service. I can’t recommend highly enough.

Lovely hotel with really friendly, helpful and hardworking staff. Everywhere is really clean and the beds are very comfortable.

The receptionist asked for payment even though I’d pre-payed. I hadn’t got my phone to check at the time so paid again. She did realise her error and it was refunded but I was disappointed that this happened. Breakfast was tasteless. In the positive side the staff were friendly and the hotel was very clean and well presented.

Fantastic hotel. We had a lovely romantic break, enjoying the hotel and its great location. There are lots of lovely lounges and quiet places to sit and read or enjoy a drink, or enjoy the view from the terrace. The staff were friendly and very helpful and the breakfast was superb. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone.
