Shower was poor. Some of the rooms are being renovated but we were in a room that hadn’t been so decor & bathroom tiles were in a poor state. There was no where to hang clothes. The staff were very friendly & polite

Not the smartest hotel in the world but it makes up for this by the friendliness of the welcome with good sized clean and comfortable rooms that have an individuality not found in modern hotels. The barroom downstairs has a good selection of drinks and there are bar billiards tables. Just be aware there is no lift so stairs to rooms must be managed. After a good nights sleep breakfast awaits exactly as you ordered it

Really lovely hotel, staff are fab, food lovely, got everything you need here, only little down side would be couldn’t get good pressure on shower, didn’t go sore

Suppose ok for money, but some upgrade required urgently, shower just tricled and took 10 minutes to get aired water, some plug sockets did not work, no real staff communication one guy seemed to do everything including running the busy pub, public areas need decorating and breakfast was like being on rations.

Wasn't expecting 5* at the price I paid, much less that Tr@veI-b0dge for the same weekend. Pleasantly surprised. The room was large, ours had a double and 2 singles, en-suite bathroom, kettle and tea/coffee, hairdryer. Its an old building and is a little tired but that gives it character. No food service other than breakfast which is included, even had an option of cooked breakfast at no extra cost. Located in a mostly student area, 2 other local pubs nearby and a handful of fast food places too. 20 mins walk into Bangor centre. For a nice eve meal, drive over the Menai Bridge, its literally 10 mins, to a pub named after a big city on the river mersey ;-)

Place was nice, games available, pool tables, parking and breakfast included. My only negative was that there was just my son and I and one other lady in the breakfast room, we asked the lady if she would mind us playing pool and she said no. I paid for the pool table and then the man serving breakfast came running over telling me we couldn't play in a morning. We left after that, it was a shame because noone was in the dining room, both my son and I left as did the lady. So it wouldn't have been an issue to have just played one game of pool. Overall it was nice, the staff were friendly and if was local to where we needed to go. It was noisy though until early hours which could have been an issue but I sleep with music in the background so thankfully it was drowned out.

The amenities for a small property is amazing. The bar downstairs is convenient with a nice outdoor seating area. The rooms are bright and comfortable. I had a great view of the mountains through my large skylight window. The staff are ready to help and have a great knowledge of the local area. It is 5 minutes to the pier and restaurants and other bars. I totally recommend this place. And will definitely stay here again.

Es ist alt und abgewohnt, hat aber was. Alles Notwendige ist da, es ist recht sauber, der integrierte Pub ist cool, das Frühstück klasse, die Lage zur Uni perfekt, der Service sehr nett.

Spacious room.

Es ist ein älteres Hotel. Unser Zimmer war sauber, Frühstück einfach, vielfältig und lecker. Personal nett und hilfsbereit.

Very convenient location for our purposes. Couldn't register until 2pm. No Lift.

The room was good but the toilet was a bit crowded. Room was warm but we were able to open 2 of the 3 windows.

We found it to be more like a Hostel than a Hotel. It was full of noisy students on both evenings we were there. Our main criticism was the general state of the hotel and the cleanliness of the room. It needs complete renovation and redecorating and the room was actually filthy. Stained carpet, ancient dried out old pine furniture, awful curtains and a bathroom that was covered in black mould....I am not exaggerating! The shower had absolutely no pressure so it was almost impossible to have a shower. What water there was fluctuated rapidly from cold to boiling hot. Virtually a Health and safety issue. The tiles on top of the shelf were held together with a large strip of silver Duck Tape. Dust was everywhere on things The only redeeming factor was that the bed linen was clean.

We were in room 7, it was at the top of the hotel, the room over looked the rear car park and at night there was a floodlight which was on most of the night which lit up our room as the curtains weee nearly see through. The shower if you can calm it a shower there was no water pressure it was like have a shower under tap.

Stayed here as close to university. Was a 2 minute walk. Deserves a higher rating than it currently has. No lifts so people with mobility issues may struggle. Wasn’t a problem for me and my daughter. We had a twin room. Shower was a little disappointing as spray was not very good or powerful. However was over a full size bath with plenty of hot water. Comes with free breakfast too. Limited to 5 items and wasn’t clear if you could pay to add to this. Cooked breakfast was delicious. Plenty of tea and coffee available in the room. I will definitely stay here again next time I come to Bangor. Lots of food outlets and a couple of bars within a couple of minutes walk.
