I have been staying at this hotel for the past four years during my trips to Costa Rica and have always enjoyed my stays. Unfortunately, this most recent visit did not reflect the same level of experience.
I booked a one-night stay before flying back home, and while the check-in process was excellent as usual, and the front desk agent was very friendly and polite, the rest of my stay was disappointing.
At checkout, I mentioned to the front desk that the shower in my room was not working properly—there was very little water pressure, and the bathroom floor felt slimy, which made it difficult to properly shower both at check-in and the following morning. I was not expecting a refund, only acknowledgment or an apology, but the response I received felt dismissive.
Additionally, at breakfast, I arrived at the restaurant entrance and stood there for a few minutes without being acknowledged. I eventually had to ask if breakfast was still being served, despite it clearly being open. Normally, guests are greeted immediately upon arrival and asked for their room number, which did not happen this time. For reference, my room number was 208.
Overall, I have always valued my stays here, which is why this experience stood out in contrast to my previous visits. I hope this feedback is helpful for maintaining the standards I have come to expect from this hotel.
