Great hotel, really friendly staff in all departments and a warm welcome on arrival. There are areas for refurbishment but this doesn’t knock our score. You can see they are renovating areas with carpets and paint so would be keen to return once this is done. It was clean and comfortable. Nice touches in the room with tea, coffee and biscuits. Definitely worth the price. The spa access is an added bonus! The perfect base for anyone exploring Sherwood Forest, just 15 mins drive away, Clumber Park National Forest is also across the road and worth exploring.

The hotel is undergoing refurbishment but it is being done in such a way there is entirely no issue. The new decor is amazing . Great location great food . Try to make time to stroll in the Park just over the road

Lovely

Overall our stay was good. The pool was lovely and warm and quiet. The breakfast was nice and the lady who served us breakfast was lovely. The evening meal was nice too. But we were really disappointed by the cleanliness of our room, we found half eaten biscuits down the back of the bed, a half eaten open packet of biscuits in one of the coffee cups, the carpet which my 7 month old was crawling appeared to have not been hoovered at all and my 7 year old daughter found a photo that had been taken in that room a year ago, down besides her bed. We raised our concerns with a manager who said she would email me, over a week on and I’ve not heard anything. Very disappointing. Unfortunately due to the concerns above we will not choose to stay here again.

Staff were professional and friendly Hotel was beautiful and full of character. It is about to be undergoing renovations as needing some old in some areas.. mostly on the outside of building. Breakfast was wonderful, the toaster worked perfectly! The waitress was sunny bright and helpful. The spa facilities were just what we needed although some young lads were behaving like 8year olds splashing water at each other and anyone in the vicinity. The spa staff was very apologetic and intervened several times. The low score for the eco friendliness is due to the fact is showers left permanently on in the spa area. All in all an excellent stay and we will stay again.

The hotel was nice but the room was a surprise as it was gorgeous! Beautifully decorated. I also got a nice birthday surprise- a large balloon arrangement and a card from the hotel which was so thoughtful. Friendly and very helpful staff. Would stay again.

Overall it was a lovely stay. The room had recently been refurbished and there were a couple of small issues- missing remote control, broken hairdryer, issue with the toilet- however the staff sorted these straight away and all the staff could not do enough to help. They were all friendly and polite.

Basic room but certainly fine for a one night stopover. Dinner similarly OK and good value for the price

The hotel is being modernised and renovated - one to watch. Staff great, facilities have potential, as long as doesn’t hike prices

Lovely staff & a nicely refurbished room. Was a bit chilly at times, and the corridor was freezing! But the hotel & staff were great

Bed bug found in bed had to leave spoilt our daughters weekend away with her partner

Some minor changes since my last visit almost a year ago. But still tired decor. New 'welcoming' potholes. New peeling ceiling lining ìn pool.area. A couple of significant sugns, 'out if order'. Continued overhearing of guest complaints. Very reliant on clients from one major company. I use this hotel because it has a pool, othrewise it's adequate. Sadly, I would not stay here with my wife. She is less tolerant.

The reception staff were excellent and very friendly. The lady serving in the Restaurant and bar again was very pleasant and friendly. My food was lovely and delivered by the Chef with an apology for taking so long. However it didn't seem to take long at all.

Property is undergoing a face lift, however the new rooms are stylish and quite tidy all be it the light permitations in each room take some working out.

Standard room was very dated, bed was small didn’t even seem a double, duvet thin was so disappointed with room we upgraded, at our expense, better interior and bed but bed was on wheels , with no canisters so it moved very annoying, room had been refurbished, but bathroom still needed updating, carpets throughout need to be replaced, overhaul disappointed

This is not a four star property and although it has some facilities, they are not four start standard. It's functional and tidy but having stayed in quite a few hotels, this is not really a four star venue.

Arrived and was given a room down a corridor where building works were. Being allergic to paint fumes was a great start to the stay. In the room the previous resident had left a dirty sock on the floor, so this left their cleaning routine in question. The bar closed at 11pm on a Saturday night, after a night out, we were just able to get to the bar for one drink before it closed. We were informed the gym and pool would be open at 8am every morning. So we woke to get to the gym before breakfast. The staff turned up late and it didn’t open until 8.30am. This messed up our schedule for the day. No apology was given. We then went to breakfast, I enjoy a latte in the morning, and other than normal coffee no other drink facilities were available. We went to Costa coffee afterwards a few miles from the hotel. On checkout both myself and another room told the stuck up madam that was on reception of the issues we had with our stay. She gave both of us the brush-off and showed zero interest in our issues. I was planning another trip in the new year, but won’t be returning to this hotel again. If the staff would’ve shown the slightest bit of interest in my issues I would’ve been able to get over the things that went wrong, but as they don’t care, I’m happy to review this hotel to let others know to stay away. The Warner hotel or Dukeries hotel close by would be a suitable alternative.
