French Country House is a rare find. We absolutely loved everything about it. Romantic, charming rural setting with stunning views of the coast and Mount Manganui. The ambience is wonderful. You feel like you are living in your own little French chateau surrounded by stunning decor. It’s définitely a million miles away from a standard corporate hotel. A unique and beautiful gem of a place. The family who run it are delightful people and made us very welcome. We went as part of a multi city two-week holiday and spent four magical days here, by the end of which we were extremely relaxed. There are some great places to eat at Tauranga and Manganui. Also the White House at Bethlehem did amazing food. The house is within very easy drive of Rotorua, Coramandel and some lovely beaches. Highly recommend you go there for a unique taste of France in NZ.

Loved the relaxed peaceful environment, Anne was welcoming and friendly I would say a excellent host. The Lodge was stunning and well appointed we were a bit spoilt as we were the only ones booked for that evening and had the luxury of having the entire place to ourselves. The grounds were beautifully looked after which made for some fantastic photos, will definitely be coming back during summer to relax again

Excellent stay. Gracious and welcoming host and doggie. We got to feed the horses, ponies, donkey and Billy. Rooms were wonderful, ours had the spa bath and princess room. Good breakfast. Very picturesque.

This is an amazing place to stay. I have booked the place for my fiance's birthday. Kay is an amazing host. She prepared a cake and candles upon our arrival and booked a nice place for dinner and arranged for our taxi. She prepared small snacks for our afternoon, and our breakfast was great too. She is friendly and kind and caring. It was great having Billy around too. We will plan another stay soon :) Thank you Kay.

The French Country House was everything we expected and more. The house and grounds were majestic and beautiful. With the warm, homely interior and lush green grounds, you truly feel like you're in a Disney movie. Kay was such a lovely host and her pup Freddie welcomed us into the home with open arms and treated us like royalty. Definitely recommend organising for Kay to make dinner while you're there, she is an amazing cook. Thanks so much for a magical stay!
